My friend has RA2, but has problems with it.

My friend, who some of you may know from the FRA Forum (tobsmithy), has got RA2.


I gave him a spare disk of it because I had two copies. But, however, the UI on his is all messed up, which makes it difficult to navigate around. I'll give you some brief info on it.


I got a pirated copy of RA2 from PirateBay (OMG!!). I burnt it onto a disk twice, keeping a spare in case it didn't work. I then installed the no CD patch onto mine, but (I think) not onto the spare. As I no longer needed the spare, I gave it to him as a gift.


It is stock v1.0. I didn't install the patch until I got DSL, which was a week later.


So the UI is like how Stagfish's was. I'm not certain if the patch will help, as I gave him a badly made disk.


Any ideas on what I can do?

Don't you need the 1.3 patch?

Got any usbs? That could be more worthwhile

If you don't, you have to get the 1.3 patch from the RA2 website, fixed my screwy UI when I got the game.
@S_M= it seems that Vistas and Windows 7 need it to fix the graphics soo yeah.

Oh, and I forgot, he's running Windows XP. But next time I see him, I'll give him the patch.

It definatley sounds like you need the patch to be honest.
Does the UI just look corrupted then?

Yeah, it is. I'll give the patch to him.

The patch is to fix graphics messed up by nVidia cards....but it adds a few extras, so even those with goood ol ATI cards will still want to use it....like the fact that the CD is no longer needed to play.
 
So, YES, It looks like the 1.3 patch will fix his problems.
