I downloaded and paid for the game yesterday and saw some of the graphics did not look right. I downloaded and installed the v1.3 patch and now the game hangs at a grey screen when starting it. My graphics card is NVIDIA GTX 280. The game plays great without the patch but due to graphics problem I cannot build bots.

You cant use 1.3 patch with download version. You need to use 1.2 patch and see if that does it.

1. rule. DO NOT buy the download version of the game. because some mods may not work on it + it is more expensive

You can buy the disk from Amazon, but be careful because the first time I bought it, I was sent the original Robot Arena.

DO NOT USE 1.2 or 1.3 patch with the download version!

Since support is nonexistant from the game makers I made an nvidia fix patch for the download version of the game....be sure to read the install instructions.

Huh? I tought that only 1.3 wont work on the DL version?

It may, but the download version IS 1.2 so you are not doing anything. The 1.3 was made to fix the graphics problem with nvidia cards, but since the graphics are in the UI folder and they are different, it will mess up the download version of the game.
