Title: Installing and playing RA2 in VirtualBox under Windows XP
Post by: SkullKid2000 on May 22, 2010, 04:58:26 PM: I'm trying to get RA2 to work in VirtualBox under Windows XP (no updates or Service Packs at all). The problem is I can't get any PC game at all to run in VirtualBox. 3ds Max works fine, but no game at all.

Post by: SkullKid2000 on May 22, 2010, 06:41:16 PM: No, I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit/x64 as the host machine. The guest machine is Windows XP Professional.

I'm also having problems with my usb ports, VirtualBox won't recognize them. I get this error while trying to open up my Virtual Machine:

Post by: SkullKid2000 on May 22, 2010, 08:31:16 PM: the official way of exporting a component to RA2 works only with 3ds Max 4.2-3ds Max 5.1. That's why I use VirtualBox.

try MSVPC (lol im just doing this on purpose now)

Post by: Serge on May 23, 2010, 09:25:52 AM: VirtualBox is faster, but its 3d acceleration support is really messy sometimes. Just run RA2 in Windows 7 and 3dsmax in VirtualBox. Use VirtualBox shared folders to transfer data between them.
