Yes yes this is a stupid question and I am indeed a moron but how do I go online to do multiplayer should I download gamespy to go online or not? I cant really add anymore detail other than im REALLY stupid when it comes to this sort of thing.

Yeah, you need something like gameranger or Hamachi. As you can see in this board (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?board=48.0), arranging matches on gameranger and Hamachi is pinned, so you can look for people to play there, unless you have someone you already want to play, of course. This is only the case for RA2. When RA3 comes out, you do not need to use these methods.

please note though that the reason people don't play ra2 online more often though is even at its best its almost unplayable. the lag is far too extreme, so most people here resort to using AI tournaments to compete with each other.
hopefully ra3 will be better in this regard.
