Title: How to work the Bot Exchange bots?

I can't face robots on the exchange. Everytime I try facing one, I get a C++ message that says runtime error. Sorry to be a pest, but I need some help. Thanks.

Most likely scenario is that they use components that aren't found in your game. I ran into this problem with Vertigo when I submitted my bot for RoboLeague.

This is weird because I got pop top from HA and it's a complete dsl bot and that's what I have.

I've found the problem often lies in the smartzone the bot uses

Ok. Well that's gonna be hard to figure out what it uses.

EDIT: I just tried Waffle's Belgian Waffle, and it also doesn't work. Is there a smartzone that most people commonly use?

I think it's Mad's custom Smartzones most people use.

Thanks ACAMS, but now the game's music stops and freezes when I hit start. Sorry for the fuss, but I really need to know these things.

EDIT:That freezing only happens on NAR AI bots which it did before. belgian waffle continues to have a runtime error.

Yeah forgot to mention all the robots from Nar AI freeze the game after I hit start.

EDIT: Mini Destroyer 2 gets a runtime error aswell.

I just reallized I have some of the teams out of order will that make a difference?

I will venture to say yes.

I think that if the teams are out of order, they will not match the AI lines for the corresponding text file.  Thus, some of the bots are probably asking for incorrect AI lines that cause the game to crash.

If it is that messed up... I think it would be toooooo much effort to fix it all.  You might want to start over with a clean version of the game and take things step by step really slowly, testing each bot/team as you go along.

Just tried the upper teams like red zone and when I tried playing guard duty, it got a runtime error.

Wait, am I supposed to add this on stock, DSL 2.0, or DSL 2.1.

The bots go in your robot designs folder....if you download DSL bots they MUST go in DSL game.
It is up to you to KNOW how to AI to battle them as opponents.

would it be possible to add something to the exchange that allows bindings to be uploaded along with the bot?

just zip it and the bindings and include a readme that tells what smart zones and such.
