Hey guys,
Jut wondering how you edit the cfg file for Ra2 (Which program work etc.)
Need to change it to fit my monitor resolution.
-
just notepad++ it like everything else :P
-
I tried that and it just gives me a file with loads of "nul"s
-
You sure you're opening ra2.cfg and not .cfz?
-
Yep, the cfz says "This is a useless file that is only here to overwrite RA2.cfz."
-
Dunno what's going on with your cfg then, mine works as per usual in dsl2.2.
-
You can open the cfg using normal notepad, try that
-
Bob, you legend.
Problem solved.
-
...Actually a new problem has arisen.
I changed it to fit my monitor, and that is okay, but all of the boxes on screen are in really weird places because of it.
HALP
-
That'll likely be because it's not an aspect ratio RA2 was meant to have.
(also nice dp)
-
Ra2 does that when you raise the res above the game defaults. your going to have to lower your resolution for some of the boxes to work. if your remove component button is missing, you can get around it by using the delete button.
-
Legit didn't realise I didn't click edit...
Also I think I'm jut going to use the higher res only when I'm recording, better quality and all that.
Thanks for letting me know how to do it anyway. :)
-
i think normal notepad is better for editing most ra2 files except .bot

I figured RA2.cfg is where the game was saving game options. Has anyone else had a problem with the game not saving settings and going back to default on each launch? Windows 8.1

Where's your game? Is it in Program Files/? If so, try copying and running it from Your Documents or Desktop, you might be experiencing some side effects of Microsoft VirtualStoreā¦
-
I'll try that. I was thinking maybe run the game as an Administrator since I need to give myself Admin rights just to copy files to the folder but that solution sounds easier anyhow.
-
Yeah it's most likely missing file permissions, run the game as admin or add permissions(I find that the better solution if you have installed the game imo, but RA2's portable and if you just DL'd it without installer then you might as well put it on some other place.)
