Blank Component Guesswork
« on: April 12, 2006, 02:24:02 AM »
With components, a lot of the components don't have preview pictures. When I click on these, some of them work, but some crash the game. It's basically guesswork when looking through "blank" components. Is there anything I can do other than reinstalling the whole shebang? Because if I have to, I'll just live with the guesswork.

Delete the Components.cfz
If there are any blank spaces that crash the game after deleting tell us which ones crash it.

Well, that'll take a minute, because I have to reopen the game everytime one crashes it.
But this time, nothing up to "Nightmare Disc" crashes. I can click nightmare disc, but when I attempt to put it into the robot, it crashes.
I'll edit this post after I find the next one.

The second component next to the small green motor crashes the game on click.

The component after that one crashes the game as well.

As does the one after that.

As does the one after that.

The component on the right of the mag motors crashes the game.

The one after the DDT Burst Motors crashes the game.

Would it make any difference that I overwrote the DSL Components back to the Original Components to stop the game from crashing when clicking the components tab?

The lesson here is to keep DSL unmodded.

Of course you could try to right click components folder under Robot Arena 2 folder and then go to properties and then uncheck read-only box if it is checked and then extract DSL mod to different folder and then copy the components folder from dsl extraction folder to Robot Arena 2 folder and when it asks: "Do you want to overwrite this folder by this." Click yes and run the game now. That might help or not but... Give it a shot.
