See above.

So, I have the 1.3 patch installed, and everything outside of battle works fine. IN battle however, is another story. For no reason, the game will crash and automatically restart my computer. If I somehow DO make it through the fight without a crash, the game will be nice enough to shut down and restart my computer the second I hit the button that returns to the menu.

What's up, is my computer bugged, or is the patch? If it means anything, this piece of garbage USED to be able to run RA2, so I don't think that's the problem.

Certainly not the patch. Maybe your RA2 install...

It's a version of RA2 with the 1.3 patch already installed.

If it doesn't works, well, it's your comp.

And bada-Crash.

There's REALLY no way around this? There's really nothing I can do? Updating DirectX won't help? I KNOW this comp can run RA2 with zero hassle: It's happened before. I didn't even upgrade to Vista.

Must be your comp.

Can you make it work with the 1.2 patch? You don't really need the 1.3 unless you have a nVidia.

Do you have the CD or did you get RA2 by some other means?

CD. Naryar gave me the download version as well, and neither worked.
