Title: GMF Component Skinning
Post by: Dragonfire on February 25, 2011, 05:18:00 AM
Ok so i've created a component from scratch using tutorial on the wiki. However, how do you control the way the bmp (in the maps folder) colours in the component? My component has an irregular shape, kind of a distorted cylinder. The bmp applies itself to both ends of the cylinder, and then the other faces that connect these two ends are just coloured with a singular pixel (it seems) from the bmp.
May post screenies etc later.

Cheers,
DF

You just have to get lucky.

You have to make some sorta vectors for it (its the same vectors as the mesh, but for the skin to read). I have no idea how to do it, but I know that serge trov or mad would.

Best method is to think ahead how it will wrap around and use a starting GMF to suit your intent..
