Hello everyone, first off, I'd like to say hecko, as this is my post. Now, down to business. I am wondering if anyone is having problems with their bots' wheels shaking, and glitching. I've searched the forums and could not find a fix or any other user with the same problem. I'm running DSL, and have applied the 2.1 1 patch, have version 1.3 patch applied (before applying DSL). I do have an NVIDIA graphics card, and am running Windows 7. if there are any other questions I may be able to assist, let me know.
-
hmm... are they just bending or completely everywhere?
-
Sounds like an odd problem, but I don't know of anyone that's using 7 here - could be that for all I know.
I'm replying more to say...
Welcome to GTM! :D
I hope your problem gets sorted, then you should totally stick around and make a showcase, etc :D
-
They bend AND shake. when testing the bot, at a stand still the wheels will shake and wobble, with bigger wheels you can definitely see a bend as well.
And thanks for the welcoming :)
-
i sometimes have axles bending but that only happens if your robot is too heavy
-
The wheels themselfs bend down the middle or the axle bends?
A picture would help too.
-
the axle bends is what it appears to be. Im thinking the bend could be from the weight, I'm not to worried about that. I'm more worried about the shaky/glitchy effect of the wheels
-
how shaky is it?
-
its about the skakyness of your truck in your signature lol. after closer look, it's not just the wheels, though they do it the worst. it's the whole bot and surrounding. kind of like a camera shake... glitch
-
I used to get that problem but it went away recently
-
Is it like Hanky Panky?
-
its normal for it to shake that much i think...
-
is it? because it's annoying lol. and the tires sometimes shake ridiculously.
-
Well it shouldn't matter when you're beating the crud out of the other bot. (Or you're getting the crud beat out of you... :P)
-
true
-
yah i'll live lol... I was just wondering if it was an easy known fix and issue. thanks guys you're all a pretty chatty/helpful group.
-
yes most of us are a nice people and rarely hold you at gun point and steal your lunch money :-D
I think I can narrow down the problem if you would kindly answer these questions for me :-D
- How Big Is The Chassis ?
- What Motors Are You Using?
- What Wheels Have The Most Problem?
-
A few more questions:
1. Did you install DSL 2 first?
2. Where did you get your game?
3. Where did you get the DSL mod?
-
Chassis is big or small, tried both, wheels... ALL tried all. motor... all. tried all. lol. custom components and stock components. I installed RA2, RA2 patch, DSL2, DSL2.1 Patch. The game is an iso from an online source... :P
-
ok what is giving you the most grief ?
small chassis with big wheels ?
so this is happening with all motors equally ?
could you possibly take a few screen shots of it ?
and now about your lunch money ? :P
-
I'm pretty sure it's a problem with Stock, that's happened to me too.
-
It's because of the physics engine, nothing ever wants to stay perfectly still. I've just gotten used to it--you really only notice it if your bot sits still for a long time.
If it really bothers you a lot, you can use tank treads. Those won't wobble at all. Also, the more polys a wheel has, the more stable it will be. Stock wheels like Slipperbottoms and shiny hubs generally shake more than DSL wheels like Techno wheels and Vlad wheels.
-
It's not a problem for me, my bot's will just sit there with no shaking.
Also, Click, you're new avatar made my day.
