Title: Dsl-tc Q&a

i heard somewhere that the darkrat, starcore, and lu-tze(?) mods download basically by themselves. if true does that mean you don't have to go through files and move things around manually? [i.e. components in component file, textures in texture file, etc.]

Nope.

You must move things manually, and make sure the files in the target folder is not in "read only". Generally they are.

Ex: if you install RA2 stock and want to use Starcore, you go to your Robot Arena/AI file, you select them all, and remove the "read only" mode. Then you copy the Starcore AI in it.

No problem.

Download your files? Where you want. Normally when you ask you computer to download something, you can choose the folder they'll be downloaded to. Personally Firefox downloads automatically mine to the desktop. Very easy.

But if you can't find, perhaps in My Folders, or in a folder called Downloads... dunno. Try searching for your file automatically. (Don't know the name of the program in English. I'm on a French XP Home edition.

So remember, before pasting new files in one of the game's folders, get rid of "read only" in this folder and perhaps make a copy of the existing file, in case the mod goes wrong.
