First off, the UI is messed up. For me, anyway.
Second off, whenever the game feels like it, it will crash. I'll get an error message that says something like "there has been an error detected in your computer, we are restarting your computer to protect it" [I dont have time to read the whole thing because it automatically restarts]
Third, if the game lasts long enough without getting that message, when I quit playing, the screen will turn black and freeze.
Thats about all of them, but they just about make the game unplayable. Has anybody else noticed these, or is it just me?

Ugh... that's serious. I'd say it was a virus, but since it only happens in DSL (it does only happen in DSL right?), it can't be. Must be something wrong with some .py file.
Maybe if I upload all my .py files? Something essential might be missing from the download. I'll get them up soon.
Oh, and CD or downloaded version?

Then you'll have to wait, because the download for 2.0 says [CD] at the moment.

The UI was still glitchy in RA2, but that was about it.
And CD, of course.

While I was beta testing the game, it crashed on me most of the time when I clicked quit button.
When I formated my window's HD and reinstalled whole windows the mod didn't never crash again even I tried to make it.
The game is very delicate and if there is something wrong in your windows or in your computer, the game will crash. For example wrong file name on a text file which is just for you. :D Well not that delicate but even I thought my computer was clean the game crashed but when I formated my HD and reinstalled whole windows the game never didn't crash again. So not until NOW my computer is clean.
And of course that downloaded version of the game makes the game crash much more easily on cd version mod. There is some difference between downloaded and cd versions but I don't know so clearly what's the difference between them.

the crash which restart looks like the old crash for the graphic card.
The only thing I can say is try to upgrade your graphic car to it's lastest drivers. It may help.
For the UI, be sure that you have version 1.2 of robot arena 2 because I don't know why but version 1.0 is really glitchy with DSL 2.0

Updated my drivers already.
Agh, I was in so much of a hurry, i didnt apply the patch. I'll uninstall and do that now...
Edit: Patch applied, DSL installed. Same problems, no improvement.

Apparently the CD version doesn't work with the downloaded version. I didn't think it would, but it was worth a shot since I couldn't find any differences between the two. I'm making a no-graphics version you can use until I figure out that darn downloaded version.

The graphics are because you have an nVidia graphics card. Get the fix.

Wouldn't the fix replace the DSL graphics with the RA2 ones?
In that case, would I have to reinstall RA2
again
, apply the patch and the fix, and then DSL? I'm going to wait before I get a confirmation here...

Ah crap, that was Death that said he had the DL version, not you. I got confused.
In that case I haven't the slightest idea why your game is crashing. Did you click "Yes to all" when you installed DSL?
For the graphics, I made a fix for DSL. You don't need to reinstall to apply it. Look in General Discussion.

Yes, I did.
As for the fix, thanks, I'll try that.
EDIT: Nothing happened...the UI is still glitched...

What are your computer specs? That could help a little.

Not when they aren't the problem, it won't.
I have a GeForce graphics card, which explains the UI being messed up since RA2 hates nVidia. What it doesn't explain is why the fix doesn't work, or the crashing.

Well the only thing I can suggest is reinstalling RA2. Perhaps try installing DSL v1.0 and 1.2 first, see if it does any good.

I just wanted to whine a bit of the mod and what could be better place than this topic?
First of all there are now extremely often Havok explosions. Average count on my games are something like 10 at one match even that same count was on 1.2 something like 10 per 100 matches. So it was like every tenth match got havok explosion. Second of all there is now very often huge fps lags which drop my fps from 80 to 11 and so that eats game pleasure like pig eats cakes, no mercy. And third of all now there happens somewhat often crashes during a match because of those havok explosions which for example throw robot through a wall and the robot will eventually make whole game engine to crash.
You can't do anything to them but I just hate Havok explosions and slow downs due to them.

How do you know it isn't your computer? =P And what model of GeoForce is it? If it's an older model, it should work fine unless you messed up installing. It's only the 6600+. For example, GeoForce 2xxx works fine for me. If it's a version before 6600, then the fix won't help. :O
Computer specs help, even if you think they won't help. If you don't have enough ram and hard drive space, then you could get messed up U.I., and massive slow down. Computer specs can help more than they think you can. Even if you think they won't help, and even if they don't, it's still recomended you give us the computer specs. Take, for example, that your computer won't display properly.
Or you could just have messed up U.I. files.
And BTW, I got random crashed in a match, and now I can't continue in the league...Might as well reinstall. =/
