I just have a few questions about Camstudio. Gonna download it one of these days, just have a few questions first.

Do I need a microphone to record sound?

And

If I had a computer with a 1.4GHz processor, how laggy would it be with a HW battle in RA2, most likely in the BBEANS Tournament Arena V2?

I don't have Camstudio but for other programs you don't need a microphone to record sounds. You just need to set it to record the "Wave Out Mix" sound output. Then if you turn your speakers on it should record sound. :)

yeah normally just the output (what your computer gives to your speakers) is what a screen recorder will use for sounds.. so before they come out the speakers

Ok so thats good. But I don't want the matches killed by lag. Is that a fast enough processor?

Edit: And there is a codec on their website. Do I need it?/What does it do?

DO NOT use it for games. the game itself won't be laggy but the video will be.

Get FRAPS or something for games. but even that lags sometimes. oh well.

RA2 = Game?

Look at my tutorials on skinning and uhh trov glitch i believe. they use cam studio.

cam studio has a very limited fps, which can be cool sometimes, for example a timelapse of a photoshop image you are making. But for games, I would stick to fraps.

yeah.. we cannot pass out copywrited programs on here (RA2 is pretty much abandonware)

but if you torrent it its not anything to do with this forum (like it cannot be held against GTM for its free release) its do at your own risk type thing

Ok so my parents will not let me get a torrent program. I am going to try to get my dad to give me his old laptop in the meantime anyone have a d/l of fraps they can send me via email. Just say so and I will PM you my email address.

I may have the zip somewhere still, it was only a zip, easiest thing ever to install, just drag to program files. I don't recall and viruses.

Well could you scan it or something to be sure. A virus on my moms computer (the one I use, I don't have my own) would probably get me banned from the computer for a while. And I'll feel like sh**.
