Title: Arena Help!
Post by: WhamettNuht on February 18, 2010, 08:26:43 AM
Hey All
Im wondering if anyone knows of something i can try.
I am working on an arena, but whenever i press start with the arena selected, the screen just goes black, then after some time, the crowd cheer noise plays, as if the fight had started.
I have run the .py file through IDLE and done the Module Check, but it says that its all ok, and the GMF doesnt have any problems when compiling.
Has this happened to anyone else before? If so, do you know of any cure for it?
Thanks :)
Matt

...There is no intro.
I should of said, i am editng the small arena, and I have gotten rid of the hazards and the intro.
I have even tried modifying the Low Lag arena for this arena, and it still doesnt work (of course i have tried the small arena's py, lol :P)

Its not the Low Lag arena that i am modding, i just used its .py file as a try out, since its one without hazards OR an intro.
BUT no luck :(
Tell ya what, here is the file, take a look, and if anyone can find a fault with it, please tell me what to change:

Yes... for moi's RR AI Pack :P
Its a great idea that i recently came up with, and something that i dont think has been done before with an AI pack.
Basically, the pack will include a skin to edit, and a Battle Rat chassis in ra2, so that then a player can simply edit the skin and import it to the battle rat chassis, then there you have it, your very own Battle Rat, bit like in real life! :P
I may also include some different coloured battle rat skins for nostalgia, if anyone wants a different coloured one or something :P (If it has been done before, sorry! :( )

thats basically not going to work you really need to edit it the python yourself

simple way to go would be disable the hazards movement and then remove the object for the crusher in the GMF (or at least make it static)

if your getting a bit of activity when loading I think the issue lies with the connection between the GMF and python

just one thing at a time either ridding the intro or the hazards, ounce you have it working back up and work on the next

It was py issues:
1. No "Return.." after "Tick" or "Hazards".
2. Your arena address had the arena folder spelled incorrectly.
3. You had 2 "INIT" sections.
4. Another minor thing that I don't remember right now...(indenting?)

Nice looking gmf.

Check your PMs, Wham....
