Author Topic: Annoying Errors on RA2 (Read 2446 times)

When ever I try setting up an opponent for an Exhibition match I keep getting an error message saying it encountered a problem and needs to close, therefore forcing me to quit. How do I stop this happening?

Oh yeah, and sometimes when I'm in a tournament, I keep getting a message saying "Runtime Error! abnormal program termination.

How am I being too vague? I just explained what the error messages are on Robot Arena 2 and when in the game they happen.

Classical. I bet that question has been answered 5 times.

I could tell you to renew your AI bots (delete old AI folder in your game and add a new one from a fresh installation of RA2) because it is possible that the AI is corrupt, but if you don't understand this just reinstall the game.

Be sure to save everything you have in your game (bots mainly, but also team pics, and everything you want to keep) prior to reinstalling.

This always happened with LugNut in my original game. It must just be AI, because I couldn't bring up the team in Exhibition, but I could face the LW and the HW in tournaments, but not LugNut.

I ment what bot are you trying to fight, and from what AI pack.

There's more that 1 AI pack?

It's just any robot I try and fight. It also happens before any round of a tournament fight.

I just tried all those. Now I keep getting an error message when I try and import a robot. Are you sure it's not the AI file I download from here that's corrupt?

Which Ai pack do you have.

Also, there are many packs
Examples: RA2GE, DSL (1, 1.2, 2, 2.1) , PYS, Starcore (1-3) etc.

What does the main screen look like? Is it like the normal RA2 screen? Does it say DSL? Do you have all of the new parts that come with DSL?

Oh, you're EXACTLY on the problem that i got recently and that seems to be fixed.

But I can't help you because I kinda installed DSL at least 5 times, plus i have some corrupt, files, etc... I just tinkered using my knowledge of the game's "architecture".

It's the DSL screen and I'm sure I do have the new parts

I already mentioned that it doesn't matter what robot I'm trying to fight in Exhibition. When I try and select a robot to fight it just gives me an error message and the game closes.
