Title: A quick question
Post by: GarvinTheGreat on July 02, 2011, 03:18:32 PM
You know the Slipper Bottom Wheels? Well how do I make them so they are not so slippy. I'm using them on a bot and it tends to hook to the right when it drives straight. Can someone tell me what part of the bindings I mess with to give them more traction.

*facepalm*
That is just their name, all stock wheels have the same grip(traction) IIRC.
And your bot veering off to one side is because of the weight distribution (make it as symmetrical as possible :P)

He never said it was in stock to be fair, and obviously DSL has mixed grip rates for the wheels.
But yes, it'll most likely be the weight distribution in the bot, even on the inside you should  try and keep the bot symmetrical.

If it is symmetrical, or changing the weight distribution doesn't help, i'd double check your controls, and their names as well.

Well, it IS DSL. But this might make a differencence. I have 5 Wheels on each side(The motors are NPTC fasts{Or whatever they are called})

Ah okay then.
10 wheels seems a bit much though :P
But do check your weight distro and controls.

Also needs the chassis shrinking to make everything nice and compact XP

You only have to re-attach two things.
And shrink the chassis, add moar weapons and stuffs :P

The bot aint done yet. I'll fill the Chassis up. And changing those motors wont do anything. It was EXTREMELLY difficult to get that all fitted. Cant I just Edit the Bindings to make traction better.

Changing the motors will help to make it drive straight.

unless you has skills in editing and can do it.

Look at the grid. That gives you help on aligning them properly. Your motors still aren't aligned properly on both sides, that's why it's veering off to one side.

Also make sure all those NPC's are the same type (normal or fast).

I wondered why my Minion replica for DSL3 didn't drive straight, until I noticed that two of the drive motors on one side were fast and the rest were normal.

I'm sorry, but that is hilarious.
