My own video game project
« on: September 29, 2012, 06:44:28 AM »
This topic will be about my own game project I am doing in tech/school place. If I get this done this will go towards a GCSE. The game will be done by January.
The forum will be a good place to say about updates and upload the game.

Let me guess is it a robot combat game?

This was quite tricky to think about but I decided not to. Although it would've good to see I decided to abolish it.

What are you making instead?

I've decided to do an RPG on the basis that most of the class were making shooters, fighting and sport. I wanted to give myself a challenge in terms of programming plus RPG's are my favorite genre of games

So what program are you using?

As of yet I do not know. Depending it will either be Game Maker or Unity.

So what games are you using for inspiration?

In terms of setting/world design : Xenoblade Chronicles on the fact of how well it blends nature and artificial together and Final Fantasy X's Asian like setting.
In terms of character design : Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy X, Xenoblade Chronicles and The World Ends With You.
In terms of battle system: Chrono Trigger and Golden Sun.
In terms of music: Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy VI.

So did you had any other ideas?

Well I had three other ideas including a robot combat game, a Mario type platformer with a Kingdom Hearts type of setting and an on-rails shooter.

So is what is this game going to be for?

It's very likely going to be for PC

So thoughts anyone?

Fun idea, I'm interested in what progress you'll make with this.

Use RPG Maker so you can save yourself the pain of drawing graphics.

Mini Bump

Update: Starting game designing next week after character modeling is done.
The type of engine I will hopefully be using is one with SNES-like graphics.
