It'll be in either the Skypecast or the main GTM one. Probably the main one.

This is also now a weekly thing rather than annual and the max is now 18.

Because it is a Tetris tournament mate xD Considering that we aren't going to be filled with Tetris players on the site, its only going to take around 30 mins to an hour per session.

No point waiting a month just for an hour.

I won't be at the next tournament as I'll be at my cousins. If anyone wants to handle with the tournament, just ask me in some way.

Make sure though:
-That you WILL be there.
-You sort out all brackets using http://challonge.com/tournament/bracket_generator (http://challonge.com/tournament/bracket_generator)
-Sort out all other tournament related things. (Matches, times, recording/screensharing)

The reason I'm changing the time is so it's easier for the majority of people to get here and also to stop interfering with game night.

If people want it at 10, it means that it won't interfere with game night anymore as game night will run for 2 hours which is plenty of time.

I won't change the night it's ran.

RULES ARE UPDATED

ADDED 'THE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS' (TCOC)

-Winner of the tournament will play 'The Champion of Champions'. If 'TCOC' is beaten then the person who beat him is crowned 'TCOC'.
-'TCOC' can not enter tournaments.
-If 'TCOC' is not active or is not able to play the Champion of the tournament, the Champion of the tournament will become 'TCOC'.

Just thinking, how would this affect the seeding? Here's a hypothetical.

Say AS is always the champ and always wins the 2 out of 3 that he needs to stay the champ.
He's only adding two wins to his total, whereas the rest of us could be adding 3-6 depending on who we are.
Eventually we will overtake AS on the seedings, but he will have never lost.
So he should be 1st seed but isn't.

The problem was that you would get 7 points and Unknown would get 6. It wouldn't make sense.

To solve the problem, I've changed the points a bit to make it fairer. To solve the problem in the future, we'll only do single elimination.

I've done this for double elimination tournaments in the past. This is why I'll be sticking to single elimination now with each round being worth a point to avoid any conflict again.

Like I said before, Kurt would have got 7 and Unknown would have got 6. It wouldn't make sense.

If you're going to change the scoring system then you should create a new score table. Or you should just add the points at one per individual match like you're supposed to and then not be inept when organising future tournaments. I vote for option two.

I've said it twice now, I haven't changed the scoring system and I'm not going to. The scoring system is staying the same now. People wanted double elimination so I changed it to that for this tournament. A tournament we did with double elimination last time, I did the same thing because I realised the same mistake. I had forgotten about it.

We're keeping it single now, for good.

To make this clear, 100%, if it's a single elimination tournament then points are awarded based on games won.
Double elimination means that points are awarded for winning a round, not a game.

The reason for this is so that points balance out. For instance, if it was done on games won in a double elimination, the points would be severally imbalanced. You also have the chance of 2nd getting more points than 1st which doesn't make sense.   

That's how I've done it and will always do it so it is as fair as possible for people joining the seeds.
