Title: Video Game Tournament

It is simple all you have to do is vote which of the video games or video game series in the list above is best. Voting will be left open for one day only, so make sure to cast your vote.

Each heat at the beginning of the tournament will have a theme to the titles on the list (Best Racing Game, Best RPG, etc.) Which ever titles win in their heat will go on to the next round against 2 other game titles from the next one so two game titles go through per heat. The game titles included will all be non-RA2 so honest opinions on other games can be given.

This should be simple enough, so let the tournament commence

It was fixed. I kinda rushed and was using Steam for different titles and it had said both of them were RPG. But it is fixed one is in FPS and the other is in RPG.

The RPG category seems so thin on the ground, and most experience Bioware-ers generally don't think that Mass Effect is the best there. Throw in Baldur's Gate or Kotor in instead.

Also, Diablo doesn't quite fit the hack and slash category, especially when compared to No More Heroes. Chuck in Madworld or something instead.

Zelda fits the Adventure category far better than the action category. Considering Arkham City's more sandboxy nature and the nature/mood of the games, I'd swap Arkham into action and Zelda into adventure.

Also, Resi crosses a few genres. I'd put 1-4 in survival horror and 5-6 in Zombie games.

I'd just generally expand each category to 5 games because several groups are severely lacking in room for choice and good games.

Final Fantasy isn't really that good compared to the other RPGs to be honest (at least IMO). 7 onwards lack the important factor of engaging characters.

I`ve already edited it in my first post but I think Motorstorm should be on the racing game list
and maybe the Star Wars Jedi Knight series could be worth mentioning

Eh, he was pretty annoying at times. The game was awesome, though. :D

Yeah, that's true. Issue with Jedi Knight is that it's very Doom-esque at times.

I'd spilt up the valve list.

TF2 would go in a new list for best multiplayergames

HL to best shooters

Portal to puzzles

and L4D to zombiegames (or to multiplayer)

This is a bit better. System Shock was only a vague choice but I'd vote if if I hadn't already voted Bioshock.

I might reset the poll so votes can be redone since I just added that and because when I changed it the change vote thing disappeared.

Honestly despite Mario Kart being the mascot racing game for Nintendo, F-Zero is the better one overall due to everything. That and FALCON PAWNCH.

Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. I personally figured they were different enough in style for it not to be such an issue, as well as the rather different themes and mood between the two.

Madman's suggestion fits well for the racing game heats, but it needs to specify NASCAR Racing 2003 Season. NR2003 for short...

There have been MANY sh**ty NASCAR games, mostly by EA Sports.

Wow, Indie gaming is going to be a hard pick..

Minecraft is ingenious, Terraria is beautiful, Garry's Mod is absolutely stupidly fun and Limbo is just.. yeah..

Mario Kart isn't a traditional racer but it's good fun.
Maybe Burnout would be a good replacement for Ridge Racer.

SW:TOR gets my vote, though I really hate all MMOs anyway. I find the Old Republic setting a bit more fun. Plus it's free to play now, not that I would anyway.
