...and so on. That games are the reason for what is the game industry now, even with in mind, that this industry sux VERY HARD nowdays. The demands for insane graphics makes the game making expensive and with a very short gameplay. I remember, that back in the days, we could skip the annoying EA intro, what happen to the game industry? I played Street fighter II on a real arcade machines, that's why now I make perfects on "hardest" on the new game, and some people are still trying to convince me, that the todays games are not easy and not for retards. Do you even played a console games like Mario and Sonic on a Nintedo and Sega (not on an emulator), where you must beat the whole game without even saving once? When I was a kid, we used to call the Minecraft : a Lego. We used to play the CS with a waterguns on a real streets. I played games on Apple ][ in the late/early 80s/90s for sake. Back in the days, the games were made from a few fans that can program for the fans, now it's more like from a greedy bullsh**s for the retards. Oh, start now your angry posts, telling me how awesome graphics have the todays games, 'cos they don't have anything else at all, it just feels now, that I have to buy some DLC or preorder just to be allowed to move ingame or something. Not to mention, that due to the lower average age (compared to the old times) the chances to have a retard/troll/or just stupid kids on the multiplayer is a pretty big (especially in your team).

There are MANY MANY examples like this, why the old generation of the 80/90s kids is better than the new one. There are some exceptions, but the whole % is a tragedy. Some kids check in Google for an elemetary stuff...

So what? Nobody here has gone on a graphics rant, and people enjoy their own games as opposed to ones that started the genre. If we go by what you say, then all lists should have Space Invaders and Pac Man as the number 1 and 2 games, as well as having Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder on there somewhere... and probably the original Shinobi. I'm sure that everyone on this forum has heard of and played a good amount of the games you listed, but they haven't put them on their own list because of their own personal preference (i.e. there were games that they enjoyed more). And there seems to be a relatively good mix of games on each person's list. You are arguing against something that not only hasn't been said yet but wouldn't have been mentioned at all if you hadn't made this post.

This thread is not about the top 20 games you think made the industry, nor is it a thread about how much better it was in the olden days, where all tutorials were contained in a chapter called 'RtFM' or 'It's a joystick and a single button, I'm sure you can figure it out', it is a thread where people try to condense all the games they have played into the 20 that they personally have enjoyed the most, every list is entirely subjective, there is no right answer, and nowhere did anyone say 'I like modern games because of the fact that the graphics are better'. ...In fact, I am seeing very few lists that are full of modern 'but look at the shiny buildings' games.

Also, can I ask why you why you put a quote from the Artwork Thread in your post, or was that just an accident?

As for my own list, I have played too many games, and can't really be bothered to try and cut it down to 20, although I am pretty sure that I-Ninja, Shinobi (for the 3DS), Monster Hunter, and Fire Emblem would be on there somewhere.

There's no doubt (IMO) that 90s games (Mario, Sonic, Megaman, etc....) were harder in general but we can't stay with the old games forever. Well, of course I'm not much a of a 90's guy, I'm younger  but I sure did enjoy all NES, MegaDrive, N64 and even Gameboy games and I still do. These games, for who had the chance to play them, are surely good memories to keep but the quest for new games keeps going as we change or evolve our interests.

Most of the games I pointed involve lots of weapons, simulators and building. Why did I choose these games? Because I like weapons in general (who doesn't, lol), I like realism so If I can't do something in real life I find a simulator and finally I love creating/building stuff. The only interest that I could satisfy in the 90's was building using Legos (and I still do)
