Just hide behind something, and then slowly move into firing range with the alt-fire as soon as you click.

It's not because of VALVe. It's because of Microsoft who say the updates are too big to be distributed free of charge, and would have to be sold as DLC.

True, but now they refuse to update anyway, even if it was free, but they have enough time to do L4D2 DLC.

I tried downloading the play 4 free version of this game on steam but every time i try to do something it freezes and than it crashes. does anyone know what is going on?

Try reinstalling it. If that doesn't work, even if you have it installed, download and install DirectX 9 or higher.

lawl nearly all of us newbies got lost on Thunder Mountain (including the enemy team), so I just hopped on to my cart like the confused Pyro I was. Scored 25 points without firing a single shot (I scored that extra point by extinguishing some Medic).

This game's community can, at times, be incredibly bad. The fact that there ARE item values is dumb in itself.
