What do you think about the possibility of a 4th Super Smash Bros. game? Which new characters would you like to see? Which ones should be dropped? Any other changes?
I for one would like to see some more characters from Sonic the Hedgehog, particularly Tails and Knuckles. Another character I would like to see (and play as) is Waluigi.
Any thoughts?
-
I would like to see new Pokemon trainer, Dawn. ^_^
And of course, better possibilities to make a level.
-
What moves would you suggest for Dawn, and which Pokemon would she have?
-
3 Pokemon's, they would be Piplup, Buneary and Pachirisu.
Piplup: A: kick. A & up: Peck. A & Left/Right: Bubble beam.
Pachirisu: A: Punch. A & Up: Tail smash up. A & Left/Right: Spark.
Buneary: A: Punch. A & Up: Kick up. A & Left/Right: Ear punch.
Final Smash: First, Pachirisu uses sweet kiss, and the opponent will be confused, after that, Buneary uses Ice Punch, and the opponent frozes. Finally, Piplup uses Whirlpool, and the opponent spins in the whirlpool and flies out from the level.

I'd like mario to to die.
-
Yeah well, S32 that'll never happen as long as Nintendo owns the series.
-
I'd like Sony and Nintendo to face off against eaqch other, like Sega has. Think of it: Jak, Daxter, Sly Cooper and all of them lot, Ratchet, Clank, Spyro, Crash, N. Cortex... OH MAN! That would be awesome. I'd post a list of moves for Jak and Spyro, if you guys want me to.
-
I think if they had any more cameo characters, they'd probably be from Sega because Sega mainly develops for Nintendo.
A playable Ridley would be awesome. I know he's mainly a boss, but Bowser and Ganondorf are playable. Why not? Besides, Metroid is one of Nintendo's flagship series, it needs more than one character.
-
Yeah well, S32 that'll never happen as long as Nintendo owns the series.
Well, any more games and they'd have sucked him like a vampire! ZING!
-
I'd like to see Mega Man (The original one, not the crappy EXE or StarForce version) in there. I mean, he's had a long history with Nintendo, great combat capabilities, and was actually a popular fan-recommended character for Brawl!
-
You actually think nintendo listens to fans? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
As a matter of fact, they did. King Dedede and Diddy Kong were two of the most highly recommended characters in Japan.
-
no random tripping
no long and boring adventure mode
playable Ridley (shouldn't be that hard to pull it off)
better stage builder
-
ah, the joys of pratfalling.
-
Dan needs to be in everything.
-
for characters, i would say Travis from No More Heroes and Jack from Madworld.
-
I'd like to see more sonic Colours, because in brawl, there was only blue sonic with green, white or red glowes. I would like to see Yellow (Tails), Black and Red (Shadow), Red (Knuckes) etc...
-
Bugger Shadow, we need Metal Sonic in there >= P
-
I'd like to see some more modernized forgotten-about characters from the early days, like they did with Pit, ROB, the Ice Climbers, and Mr Game and Watch. Also maybe a Player's avatar from "Animal Crossing", or the titular characters of A Boy and His Blob
-
I want the next story mode to have more enemies from the actual games. Especially the bosses, there are so many they could have used.

QFT. I was very disappointed to see that all the mooks in story mode were invented just for Brawl

In Japan.
Nuff said.

I know what you mean. It might've been nice to see mooks from other games, such as the Meta Knights, the Black Sugar Pirates (Wario Land), and some of the monsters from the 2D Metroid Games, like the Sidehoppers or those ones which came out of the pipes.
-
Characters I'd like to see:
Miis
One of the other Wario Ware characters
Toad
That frog boss thing from Mario 2
Slippy Toad
Birdo
Pac Man
-
TRAVIS.
But they need to stay true to the melee combat system, which was almost ruined in brawl. Stronger online play would be fantastic. and uh make stage builder not stupid.
-
TRAVIS.
But they need to stay true to the melee combat system, which was almost ruined in brawl.
Quoted for truth. What the Hell did they do to Captain Falcon?!
-
FALCON PUNCH!
Falcon kick sorta ruined it though
-
All he does is just grope Samus' boobs. :P
-
Boobs... @.@

*GF93 Mario-Tornadoes Jonzu*
-
Maybe Louie from Pikmin? for his Final Smash he could ride in on the Titan Dweevil and obliterate all in his path.
And I want to see Roy back.

it would be nice to see him back though.

That's another thing: Get rid of Fludd and bring back the Mario tornado. Make Fludd an item.

Mario Tornado is Mario's down air attack, right?
-
Mario Tornado is Mario's down air attack, right?
Yeah. Total garbage! I want to do the tornado without jumping, like in the good old days. I wouldn't mind if they changed his Up-B attack to the propeller hat, though.
-
I like the current up-B, but maybe the propeller hat could be an item?
-

Oh yeah. It could be the propeller block thing.
-
I'd like to see Eggman as a boss, or even as a player character (Though I'm not sure how they would do that.)
-
I want Tails! X3
-
As much as it pains me to agree with Jonzu, I want Tails too. Preferably with a moveset similar to the Super Smash Flash one, with the ball-and-chain thing in various forms acting as smash attacks. The energy gun thingy would be neutral special obviously. The tail whip thing could be dash attack.
-

I was thinking maybe that his moveset could include-
B: Rapid Tail Attack (From Sonic Adventure, tap B repeatedly to spin, lashing opponents that come close. Slight Vacuum effect)
B<>: Propeller Dash (From Sonic the Fighters, Tails dashes forward in a flying tackle, propelled by his tails)
B^: Tail Copter (Like the Wings of Icarus, Hold up and B to Fly for short periods of time)
Bv: Spin Dash (Same as Sonic's, but does multiple small hits rather than one big one)
FINAL SMASH: Cyclone Walker (Tails summons the Cyclone Walker from Sonic Adventure 2, allowing him to attack foes with missiles and bullets, and also to hover and fly around the stage)
-
Did you know, there was an Animal Crossing movie in Japan? The main (girl) character's name was Ai, that's probably the closest we'll get to a name for "Animal Crossing Character." Since we're brainstorming movesets, here's hers:
B: Lob cherries (that was the fruit in the movie's town)
B<>: Bees
B^: Fishing rod (acts as a grappling hook)
Bv: Plant Pitfall (the pitfall item would be removed)
Final Smash: A fossilized Seismosaurus rises from the ground and attacks the other players.
Taunt<>: Ai changes outfits and poses
Taunt^: Ai shows off a fish
Tauntv: Ai shows off a bug
The net is used for smashing.
-
Actually, there are a lot more moves in SSBB than just those:
Neutral attack
Side attack
Up attack
Down attack
Side smash
Up smash
Down smash
Grab
Pummel
Forward throw
Back throw
Up throw
Down throw
Dash attack
Neutral aerial
Forward aerial
Back aerial
Up aerial
Down aerial
Grab aerial
Glide attack
Neutral special
Side special
Up special
Down special
Final Smash
Sidestep
Forward roll
Backward roll
Shield(?)
Up taunt
Down taunt - ("Hands off my bread!")
Side taunt
As of SSBB, all of these moves have to be considered to make a full character. I may have missed some.
-
Crouch?
-
Yeah, crouch and occasionally crawl. Thanks for pointing that out.
EDIT: And movement, which I won't go into because everyone should already know the movement controls.
2nd EDIT: And a cheer for the character. Should be basic, but meh.
3rd EDIT: And idle animations.
-

3rd EDIT: And idle animations.
Well, I think I'll do a full moveset for myself, because I'm actually that sad. Behold-
GOLDENFOX93
ENTRANCE:
The Diotoir looms overhead, and descends to just above the Playing Field. GF93 jumps down unarmoured, before posing to call his suit to him. As the Diotoir flies off, GF93 turns into a white silihouette of himself, before the silihoutted pieces of his suit drop down from the sky onto their respective pieces onto GF93. He then poses again and appears as normal with an anime "Gleaming" sound effect, ready for combat.
STANDARD MOVES
Neutral attack: GF93 swings an Energy Cutter with one tap, then with the other arm for another. Once again, GF93 performs a quick jabbing punch, and if tapped or held afterwards, he'll continue attacking with a barrage of Cutter Swipes.
Side attack: GF93 performs a quick spinning slice with the Energy Cutter, before landing a quick Roundhouse kick afterwards.
Up attack: GF93 swings upwards twice quickly.
Down attack: GF93 ducks and performs a quick spinning sweep kick. Very little knockback, but good for ground comboes.
Side smash: GF93 slashes inwards with both Energy Cutters in an X-formation. If the input is performed again quickly, he'll spin and then swing them outwards, knocking foes away. Decent Range, and a good finisher.
Up smash: GF93 performs a powerful Shoryuken-like punch that knocks foes straight up. During this attack, he won't use the Energy Cutter, but instead cover his fist with a plasma-electricity aura, causing fire/electric damage.
Down smash: GF93 charges up, before swinging his legs around in a breakdancing-style kick, holding himself up on one hand as he does so. Good for spacing.
Grab: GF93 reaches forward and tries to grab his opponent. Slightly longer range due to GF93's comparative size.
Pummel: GF93 holds the opponent by the back of the neck with one arm, and punches them in the face with the other arm when button A is pressed.
Forward throw: GF93 throws his opponent forward, before attacking them with two quick Energy Cutter spin attacks, knocking them away.
Back throw: GF93 grabs his opponent around the waist and suplexes them, after which he rolls backwards and judo-throws them away from him, before shooting them in mid-air with five GF-Missiles from his wrist cannon as he gets back up.
Up throw: GF93 knocks his opponents into the air with a Shoryuken Punch, before leaping up and Bicycle-kicking them straight upwards as they fall back down.
Down throw: GF93 grabs his opponent around the neck with one arm and throws them to the turf straight at his feet, before jumping up and blasting them with a continious laser blast from his wrist cannon whilst they're on the ground.
Dash attack: GF93 jumps forward and Shoulder-tackles his enemy, knocking them back with one big hit.
Neutral aerial: GF93 spins and slashes with his Energy Cutters twice quickly.
Forward aerial: GF93 attacks with a rolling spin kick, good for Gimp Kills or simply aerial assaults.
Back aerial: GF93 elbows his opponent from behind, sticking out an arm with an Energy Cutter as he does so.
Up aerial: GF93 Bicycle-kicks straight upwards, propelling him upwards very slightly and doing multiple hits, with the last one launching the opponent(s).
Down aerial: GF93 stomps straight downwards, Captain Falcon-style. A great Meteor Smash.
Ledge attack: GF93 flips up onto the stage, kicking the opponent in midair before slashing them with an Energy Cutter.
Alt. Ledge attack: GF93 climbs up and thrusts forward with one Energy Cutter.
Floor Attack: GF93 performs a spinning breakdance kick along the ground to begin with, before flipping back up onto his feet in mid-spin.
Sidestep: GF93 steps back into the stage, before stepping back.
Forward roll: GF93 dives forwards and quickly rolls along the ground, before standing back up as he finishes.
Backward roll: GF93 performs a low backflip away from his opponent.
Shield(?): GF93 holds his forearms in front of his head in a defensive position as the shield takes effect.
SPECIALS
(b) Plasma Beam: A chargeable attack that works a lot like Samus' charge beam. Press B once to charge, and Press B again to fire. It can do lots of damage in one sweeping blast, but has relatively little throwing power until the higher percentages.
[b<>] Machspeed Slash: GF93 zips forward at blinding speed for a short distance. If he hits an enemy with it, he'll slash upwards with the Energy Cutters, tossing them into the air. If done in midair, it spikes enemies down instead, making this a great Meteor Smash attack.
[b^] Axle Tornado: GF93 jumps up and spins like a helicopter rotor, sticking out his Energy Cutters as he does so to attack. The button can also be held to slowly float whilst coming down to recover or continue attacking.
[b v] GF-Missile: GF93 crouches and fires four small Missiles, which fly straight ahead and explode on Contact. Unlike Samus' missiles, they are faster, slightly more powerful and cannot be made to track opponents.
FINAL SMASH
Reaper Mech Summon: GF93 leaps up off the screen, and comes back down in the Reaper Mecha from Story Time.
He is able to ride around in it and attack through methods such as stomping enemies, blasting them with Missiles or Lasers using button commands, and like the Landmaster, can boost upwards to take enemies off the screen. It is also impervious to standard attacks.
It only lasts for a short time however, so be quick when using it.
OTHER
Up taunt: GF93 spins an energy cutter on one arm before swinging forward with it, saying "Come on, then!" as he swings.
Down taunt: GF93 turns to the camera and holds out one arm as one of his wrist gauntlets morphs into its Cannon form and back again, as he taunts the opponent with "Are you ready?!"
Side taunt: GF93 takes out a bottle of Pepsi Max, cracks it open and drinks it, in a simular fashion to Young Link and his Lon Lon Milk in SSB: Melee.
Cheer: "G-F!"
*Clap clap clap*
"NINE-THREE!"
*Clap clap clap*
Idle: GF93 looks around in both directions.
Idle 2: GF93 flicks one of his wrists, causing one of his Energy Cutters to spin on his arm twice.
VICTORY POSES
1) GF93 performs a few acrobatic punches and kicks, before striking a finishing pose and saying "Diotoir crew, Victory is ours!"
2) GF93 calls his armour away, steps forward in his unarmoured form and comments- "The name's GoldenFox93. Remember it well!"
3) GF93 throws two alternate jabs, before holding out one arm and turning his back towards the camera. GF93 then looks over his shoulder on the same side his stretched arm is on.[/b]

Are we just reminiscing here, or is there actually legitimate rumors of a SSB4?
And SFTW needs to be in it. :gawe:

We're probably just discussing it, Click. I mean, Brawl hasn't been released for very long, so I think it'll be a fair while before another SSB is released.
But then again, in the GTM version (Which I might dedicate a whole thread to at some point), if SFTW is in it, we're definitely having I will get Shredded and Spike in as hidden characters! :approve:
-
And ItI.
One thing I would be interested in seeing is the Plusle and Minun character that was supposedly scrapped during Brawl's development being made into a playable character next time.

Interesting...but Plusle and Minun...together as one character? You mean like the Ice Climbers almost?
And nice work on providing that template for me. So far, I'm the only one on the forums to have filled it :approve:
-
Spike
Spike?
-
You're welcome. And yeah, there's a bit of programming in the Brawl game that has a title reflecting Plusle and Minun's Japanese names. People concluded that they were supposed to be like the Ice Climbers.
-
Spike
Spike?
Mrclown's entry in BBEANS1.
-
Why Spike?
-
Because Mrclown had an awesome nickname.
-
Tails
knuckles
roy (returns)
shadow
toad
master hand
metroid
-
That's funny...I've been trying to bolden my headings in my moveset and get rid of that [/b] icon at the end, but when I do, they just revert back.
-
I miss Mewtwo. He wasn't very powerful but it was nice to have more playable bad guys.
-
I miss Mewtwo. He wasn't very powerful but it was nice to have more playable bad guys.
I much prefer Mewtwo to Lucario. I don't even know what Lucario is! I know it's one of the newer Pokemans, but I know nothing of the thing.
They should get Ryu from Street Fighter to be in the next one. Instead of pressing a string of button combos for 20 minutes to do a haduken, you can just hit smash b.
-
On a more serious note, I think it would be awesome if Masahiro Sakurai was a secret character in SSB. (For those who don't know, he's the creator of the SSB series.) He'd just be a guy in a suit, and he'd look all photorealistic and out of place. His moves would consist of various "hax" with the game's source code.
Maybe Shigeru Miyamoto could be in it as well, as a sort of tribute.
-
You think we should start up a thread dedicated to the GTM SSB?
-
No.
-
M'kay. Just wanted to promote our own version, that's all. I mean, with our own stages, characters, bosses, and ideas for items and shiz.
-
Whoops, I was thinking of something else. Sure, why not?
-
OK then, I'm on it.
-
3 Pokemon's, they would be Piplup, Buneary and Pachirisu.
Just looking through this old thread- I think I might bring it back.
Anyway, those could be interesting ideas. You mean almost like the Pokemon Trainer's 'mons, right? For the next one, I imagine him using the Ruby/Sapphire starters. A-like so...
Pokemon Trainer, with Blaziken, Grovyle, and Mudkip
Blaziken
B: Focus Blast (Blaziken charges a ball of blue-white energy in its hands, before firing it straight forward in the form of a fast fireball. It can be charged by holding down B to increase its power)
B<>: Blaze Kick (Blaziken leaps forward and throws a fiery jumping kick straight forward, in a simular fashion to the Falcon Kick. It can also be done in midair, during which Blaziken dashes straight forward, axe-kicking a foe straight down if they connect with it at this time)
B^: Sky Uppercut (Blaziken jumps into the air, covers its fist in flames, and hits its opponent with an uppercut thrown skywards with force. Does multiple hits, with relatively high knockback and fire damage)
Grovyle
B: Razor Leaf (Grovyle throws a sharp-edged leaf like a boomerang, that can go through enemies and hit upon return. Up to two can be thrown at once, and distance and direction can be altered by holding down the button and/or pressing a direction)
B<>: Leaf Blade (Grovyle slashes straight ahead with its arm-leaves. It can be entered again up to four more times to perform a quick combination attack, simularly to Marth's Dancing Blade)
B^: Aerial Ace (Grovyle stops in place for a brief second [with brief resistance to flinching], and with a flash, dashes a short distance in a direction pre-determined during the pause. Can also be used on the ground as a dash attack)
Mudkip
B: Water Pulse (Mudkip can charge up power, before blasting a controllable stream of water from its mouth. Much like other water-related attacks, but can also do slight damage)
B<>: Mud Shot (Mudkip attacks the foe by shooting a blob of mud at it. Can hit multiple times, and also knocks foes over when sweetspotted)
B^: Surf (Mudkip produces a wave of water underneath its feet, and rides on top of it to carry it upwards and forwards. If it hits an opponent, it hits them multiple times)
FINAL SMASH
Varies according to which Pokemon you were using at the time. Depending on who you are, one of these FSs will occur-
Blaziken: CLOSE COMBAT
Blaziken dashes forward and attempts to catch hold of the opponent by the arms. If it succeds, it will knock him/her into the air with a fiery Sky Uppercut. Once this happens, it then follows them up with fists and feet ablaze, before laying into them with a fast combination of acrobatic punches and kicks. It then finishes the attack by leaping back and dashing through them with a massive Blaze Kick in slow motion, blowing them away with fire damage, and high knockback.
Grovyle: SOLAR BEAM
In a simular fashion to the Zero Laser, Grovyle charges up Solar Energy in its hands, before firing it out in a massive white-green coloured beam that does multiple hits, and can be moved up or down slightly for maximum effect.
Mudkip: WHIRLPOOL
Mudkip suddenly starts running around in circles, which gradually get bigger, as it also summons waves of water. Suddenly, it then generates a massive whirlpool along the ground where it was standing, with a spinning funnel of water protruding from the top. If foes are hit by it, they are pulled in, spun at high speeds for rapid damage, before being launched away in random directions.
Good, eh? :P
-
Blaziken needs Overheat and Mudkip needs Mud Shot.
-
OK, I'll swap out Icy Wind.
EDIT: OK, done. Other than that, what do you think?
-
