Not shopped, that is a direct screenshot taken with Steam. And that tank is something you unlock after the mission Deckers.die...

And yes, you can tune cards and such. Make them prettier, faster, sturdier, give them spikes that come out of the wheels when driving, give nitro (always infinite uses).

Here is my tuned Raycaster.

This game is on my Christmas list. Seriously, with a weapon called 'The Penetrator' which is a... oh wait, this isn't Junkyard... the description would probably get me warned. But yeah, this game looks like a better GTA (better in the sense that GTA is trying to be crazy and serious at the same time, and this game is just trying to be crazy all the time). If I don't get it for Christmas, hopefully I will have a job, and therefore enough money to actually buy it.

I read a review on it, and the only bad thing that I saw mentioned was that there was too much to do... and that apparently about 8 hours of the game amounts to tutorials because of all of the different minigames you can do (although, based on experience with Saints Row 2, I don't think that the tutorial will interfere with the gameplay that much).

Didn't notice that.

Then don't play it, super-serious boy.

Just downloaded the Initiation Station demo. I have already noticed that the customisation is rather good (if you are a bloke, you can still make your character have a female voice). I also noticed two references in the personality section. Under compliments, you can have Wyld Stallions, and under taunts you can have Hadouken (although it's called 'Quarter Circle Forward+A). Now I know that I definitely want this game...saying that, I've heard that the customisation in Saints Row 2 is better.

I've never played SR2, only 3.. But yeah, you can do a LOT with your character.
It's also funny that you can let your character run around completely naked. Then you can also activate a streaking activity. Goal, run against people to shock them. Do this to a certain amount of people within a timelimit. It's great fun.

Is it the streaking part that did it for you? =P

I never played 2, but 3 doesn't seem broken to me at all. I have no bad experienced with it.
Maybe check it out yourself by first getting it trough torrent and if you then see how this one is and think it's good, then buy it because it is worth it.
