Was kinda surprised to not see a thread for this. I hope it's alright if I make this thread...

Anyways, This is a place to discuss the football game that isn't quite football that also has cars in it.

Picked up the game when it was available via PS Plus on PS4. Despite not liking football games at all, I loved it. I'm hoping to get it on PC too so I can play with people on GTM easier.

That is, if anyone here owns the game / has played the game? Most of my friends lost interest in it a short while after it's release, so I'm kinda on my own in a team based game (help) and with the big June update on the horizon, there doesn't seem like a better time than now to make a thread for this.

So then. Who here plays some SocCar?

Bought this game on Steam around 3-4 months ago (mainly to play with Mouldy and Neigh during online matches), and have enjoyed it. The game has such a huge focus on its engine and it definitely shows. The ball is hard to knock into your goal, but that makes it satisfying once you've scored. Online and offline matches are equally as fun to me. I mean, what can I say that hasn't already been said. It's addicting and a lot of fun to mess around with.

If I had to mention one problem, it's that the camera isn't the best as neither camera angles give a good enough view of the ball. The normal camera is a bit too jerky for my liking and doesn't focus much on the ball. Unfortunately the ball camera suffers from the opposite as it focuses too much on the ball and makes it hard to really see what I'm doing.

But even then, that doesn't harp on me much and is still a lot of fun to play. I highly recommend this game to anyone really. Especially willing to those who want to have some great multiplayer fun and fans of soccer/football with cars.

Picked up this game about 3 days ago and have loved it since. Really fun to play doubles with friends, and i would definitely recommend.

Too lazy to write a 1000 word essay on it but Rocket League is definitely one of my favourite games. I really like games that refine a specific concept until it's near perfect. Got it during one of the PS Plus months as well, Joelu. The best thing to ever happen to PS Plus members other than PS4 online.

Love hopping up into the air and then hitting the boost to just fly clear across the field to knock the ball in to score. That new basketball gamemode is a lot of fun as well.

It's really bloomin' hard to score anything that doesn't look like a cheap shot, though...

I can still play (can't be late, though; exam revision and stuff)

I'm getting the PC version, like, right now. I'll be playing... also right now. Well, when it downloads.

One more thing; 1v1s are annoying for me. ~~You have to play so defensively~~ it just seems dull sometimes. That's where a lot of sh*t talkers reside, too...
EDIT: Playing defensively isn't the best of ideas; you just have to not be overly aggressive.

By the way, I recommend you all check out SubParButInHD / SubParButIn4K 's channel on YouTube, as there's a superb series of video guides on there to improving overall skill on Rocket League. iBP Kronovi (the #1 ranked player in the PS4 beta) oversaw the making of the videos, so the information provided is from a very reliable and well-trusted source. He has 6+ years experience with the Battle-Cars series, so he has very good knowledge of the game.

I think it was actually because of the ranking reset for Season 3. We both quickly climbed to Challenger, I guess. My usual rank is Rising Star. My exact division varies depending on the mode.
