Title: Robot Combat in other Video Games
Post by: JoeBlo on November 25, 2010, 12:44:13 AM
Im interested to hear if anyone knows of Robot Combat within other games? (so not a robot combat game itself)

I only know of 1 from memory, there is a mission in Sly 2: Band of Thieves which Murray joins the "R/C Combat Club" to gain inside info and you have to fight another R/C robot tank

anyone know of other games that feature robot fighting?

The Urbz: Sims In The City for the PS2 had robot fighting. In the Foundry level, you get your rep high enough to gain access a secret nightclub place, and they have a big lexan and steel cage, and two robots rise up out of the floor and fight each other in a cutscene. I think one of them had a sawblade, and the other had spikes. Then you did a stupid dance if you won.

In Thrillville: Off the Rails you can drive R/C cars to hit each other in a mini battle.

Do demolition derbies count?  There's Need for Madness (Flash Game) where you can win by destroying all the other cars (and some of the tracks are unnecessarily long to encourage this behavior)

The Nightfall Incident? It was kickass! Also, the music from it recently appeared in some car ad in Argentina.

THAT IS A TOTALLY AWESOME GAME. Once you get the Final level, just go round the track backwards. It's such a lot of fun.

I am on Level 7 now and I keep getting trashed by El King. It's too tough for me to try wasting it, and everyone else gangs up on me when I'm in the lead.

I somehow got to level 10, and I either end up being ganged upon and trashed very early, or I end up outraced by the guy who starts in 1st position. One or the other. I'm getting slightly annoyed. =P

How did you beat level 7?
I ran with mad stunt skills in High Rider, took many tries but I managed somehow.
Also I remember defeating similiar level in the first one by destroying everyone using Lead Oxide.

I uploaded my run and 2 super stunt short clips in a rar now. It is 20mb packed, 114mb unpacked.

Almost forgot, there is a super stunt in the Outrunning EL King vid too, but the game counted it as: Nice 180!

Oh and no sound and bad video quality, I didnt bother with the settings so its what it is. Also in the vid you see the footage stop for a few seconds, that actually happened alot when I was playing, recording or not.

Someone should make a thread where we talk about robot combat in TV shows. I remember several from shows I watched years ago.
