Title: R.I.P. Nintendo Power
Post by: Badnik96 on December 15, 2012, 12:43:31 PM
Just got the last issue today. Too bad it's gone, I'll have to rely on the internet and its false rumors for gaming news now. (I am not going back to the biased piece of crap that is GameInformer)

Just post your thoughts here.

I was a subscriber till the end.  It's a shame, but life goes on.

Will be getting it today, but I will ask ahead of time, is there anything in the magazine about Bayonetta 2 or Fatal Frame IV?

I had a subscription for, like, 10 years. I think from '95 to '05. It was a good magazine, though the reviews were never very useful.

Nintendo pulled a Kurt Cobain with the Wii.
By selling nearly 30 million more consoles than their two competitors?

Heh, I had a nintendo power subscription when the mag first came out.  I think I stuck with it for about 3 or 4 years.  Honestly, I felt it went terribly downhill when they introduced the NEStor comic.  That's when I gave up. No idea if it got better after that.  The reviews were decent, the tips and tricks were integral, the cheat codes were like CRACK COCAINE TO ME!!!11!!  Oh, and the centerfolds were lulzy though the extended level maps were absolutely epic at the time.

I sold all my issues on ebay this past summer.  Donthatemeguys.

This makes me remember the old nintendo uk magazine. Awesome memories and I remember the Nintendo DS themeed special issue that I had for 5 years before my sister threw it out. It was the first time I cried about something game related.
