Randomly fell on Moltres on mount silver. Damaged him with one crit from Gengar's Shadow Ball, which put it to 5% health, then I put him to sleep after a Fire Blast which eat quite a bit into my Gengar's health.

Ultra Ball. Doesn't work. Twice. Wakes up. KOs my gengar with fire blast again. Swap pokémon, use revive, get gengar again, sleep him again with Hypnosis, then cue the catch with an hyper ball.

How do you fail with the Ultra ball? Half of the pokemon I snagged in Colosseum were snagged with Ultra balls.

Catch rate. It is entirely possible to fail with 99 Ultra Balls, and then successfully catch it using a Poke ball. The only one that bypasses the catch rate is the Master Ball (excluding gen I, where it had something like a 1 in 256 chance of failing).
Yes that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense.

It's also possible to catch something like that with a single Pokeball if you lower the target's stats, reduce them to one HP with false swipe or a FEAR Pokemon, and inflict sleep, freeze or paralysis.

Then there's the multiple myths on how to catch Pokemon instantly, and even though I know it's not programmed in pressing down and B at the same time and holding them always seems to work for me.

One myth that I remember is that you hold B and rapidly tap A. I always did it because it made it less tense (and seemed to work a lot of the time, and not doing it always seemed to fail). Another one that I remember is that holding A, B, Start, and Select guarantees an instant catch (I never did that because I knew that it was a soft reset).

I believe that's a new mechanic that they introduced in Gen V. It's called a critical capture or something.

I'm just thinking to use a monotype rock sandstorm team.

Aerodactyl (suicide lead to put up Stealth Rock and then Tailwind)
Rampardos (to abuse tailwind and make the other guy piss himself in terror. Maaaybe just with rock polish for good measure)
Tyranitar (sandstorm inducer and Rock Polish rape machine)
Omastar (shell smash abuser and Water/Ice attacker)
Cradily (mixed wall, Curse user and Grass attacker. Suction Cups doesn't hurt)

And the other one I have no idea. Maybe Lunatone to add psychic attacks and try Calm Mind. No Terrakion though because ty already made me hate that pokemon.

I have just remembered the fun of a Klinklang with Gear Grind, Shift gear and Focus Band.

EZ sweeper mode.

I've had some boosting sweeper fun as well. Try Suction Cups Cradily with Curse, Recover, Substitute and STAB physical attack.

The fun part is that the opponent CAN'T phaze  you when you're at +6 Atk/Def. The bad news is that it's weak to boosting special sweepers, even in sandstorm with max spdef EV.

Not much of an UU and above person tbh. I like the pokemon near the derp tiers and the MC/LC metagames.

Add a cleffa to that. May become my special attacker or utility bot, i heard Clefable isn't bad as a special sweeper role.

Unmanly though.

Reminds me of the time I found a Murkrow when fishing. And a Jolteon.

Also reminds me I have to continue that nuzlocke.
