My clan friend Grim said that he started using the PS3 and liked it a lot better than the 360 for these reasons:

-Barely any kids online.
-Free online

My PSN Name is Insane8009.

Im barely ever online, the games are so expensive for this thing and the ones I have I already completed once or twice or got stuck in them, so I play on the computer instead.

I might get Grand Turismo 5 but first I want to know this:
Are the controls similiar to Grand Turismo 4? Car feels exremely slow, breaking is like on ice, car is heavier than a mountain and steering is feels like you are trying to push a mountain with one hand.

Post by: powerrave on January 10, 2011, 03:53:08 AM
gonna find that out after i got that game today. shops are still closed. also, only the newer games are very expensive. look on that site i gave earlier. there are cheaper games too, like Resistance: Fall of Man. i have that one btw, great game. fun to play Co-op.

not to forget that it is faster, better graphics and a proper Blu-ray player.

1. Changeable as always
2. Depends on view and car, I feel speed is much better conveyed.
3. Braking is good with correct ABS settings, but brakes cannot be upgraded.
4. Depends on car.
5. Steering is fine as long as you get the right line and speed.

I'm SIR1234 (Yeah I know, it's weird but my dad set it up...)

LOL THAT GAME IS TERRIBLE
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: powerrave on January 16, 2011, 05:58:11 AM
or you are just terrible at it. i never played it so i have no opinion on it.

me and S_M had 2 races in GT5. he won the first, i won the second. but i should seriously stop ramming my fellow racers. damaging my own car isn't handy.
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: Squirrel_Monkey on January 16, 2011, 05:59:38 AM
I would have won the second if I hadn't don't my celebratory handbrake turn too early.
In the first race we both mucked up our steering by crashing.

Sounds fun, but the only store to sell this nearby has it for 75€ and im not too intrested in using that much right now as we have money issues right now.
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: powerrave on January 16, 2011, 06:16:16 AM
get Wipeout. extreme high speed fun.

and S_M, the first race i had slight damage on one of the front sides. after leaving the PIT i rammed you again and got huge damage.
second race one front was damaged also after the pit stop. so i also purposly rammed you with the other side to get the same damage there. when i succeeded with that i also damaged the engine a bit. i had trouble accelerating. and one of my back wheels got slightly damaged. i still think of GT5 to much of a battle zone.

You can buy a PS3 controller that looks similar to a 360 controller.

http://www.powera.com/ps3/ps3.asp?section=0&prod=051083 (http://www.powera.com/ps3/ps3.asp?section=0&prod=051083)

I am considering moving over to the PS3, but stay on the 360 for CoD.

I be talkin' 'bout dat PS Triple.
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: powerrave on January 19, 2011, 04:20:27 AM
PS3 just got Steam.
and just how can you use Steam on PS3? would be weird IMO.

In which case I'll have to cram the internals of a dualshock3 inside an Xbox360's controller. I CAN'T GET OVER HOW ANNOYINGLY UNCOMFORTABLE THE CONTROLLER IS ON THE PS3 O_O
what are you talking about man. maybe try hold the controller instead of the console. might help. there is also the possibility of using a PSP as controller on PS3, but i don't know how comfortable that is. normal dualshock3 controllers are pretty comfortable, unless you strap spikes and razor tips to them. that would be painful.

Gah third party products... They're somehow better than homemade though :P
i never had that experience!

other news, i now has LittleBIGPlanet2. arrived today. that's 2 days before the release! and i got bonus stuff with it! =D

You buy Portal 2 on the PS3, you get a code to put it on steam. You also can play against people multiplatform.

I learned it from here:

Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: Squirrel_Monkey on January 19, 2011, 10:47:38 AM
Controllers are just what you grew up with, you get used to one and the others seem weird.
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: powerrave on January 19, 2011, 11:31:23 AM
S_M pretty much stated what i was going to say in a way to long piece of text.
but to answer the question in your first point, i did not play on any xbox360, only once or twice on the first xbox. didn't really like the controller at all, but then again, i was completely used to the PS2 controller then. i also have no trouble with Gamecube controllers, even-though they are a bit big.

as for the vid posted earlier... heck yeah Steam + PS3! i now know for sure i'm gonna get Portal 2 for PS3.

i'm also curious for the PSP2, even tough i have never been a PSP fan, a handheld with HD quality? that i must see.
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: powerrave on January 19, 2011, 02:48:24 PM
changed colour? from black to black? Sony never needed to change the design of the controllor. it has always worked very well. they even dropped the idea of changing it to a banana that they first had.
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: powerrave on January 19, 2011, 02:58:40 PM
oh wait PSX controllers were lighter colours. but i started with PS2 which his black controllers (though the second one i got was silver, i liked the colour).

and in the banana controller case. i think it is more because people would try eat it. or throw it like a boomerang.
Title: Re: Playstation Network
Post by: powerrave on January 19, 2011, 03:40:01 PM
well, i do think you'll be better of with a PS3.

and.. build PC yourself. not get a downgraded laptop that they then call a notebook. eitherway, this is a thread that has to do with Sony's game console. lets keep it to that.

Why is Sony mixing PS3 with Steam?
Because they are awesome?

I couldnt have tought of a better way of bringing crossplatform in.

either Valve or Sony came up with this recipe for WIN (or both) and there was an agreement. i am really happy with this really.

they are both worse then actual laptops. one being worse then the other. dunno which was more of a waste of money.

other news, i had fun on LittleBigPlanet today with 3 friends. shark survival maps with overly fast shark is so much fun.

BUMP: Had some good races with SSG yesterday, most races were very close (except for when he picked a sports car for a rally stage :P)

I'm hoping to get Motorstorm Apocalypse when it comes out. Looks excellent.

LOL! bad move there SSG. expected better from you.
it's that i lack time a lot these days, otherwise i would surely look for a race with one of you guys. though i have to remember to NOT ram others.

hope the same.

also, i'd like a race or 2 in Wipeout HD Fury some time. anyone here have that?

aawww that's nice. thought we will only see for how far this is possible when Steam is released to PS3. i mainly hope that i will be able to play some more of my Steam games on PS3 then. then i would have a platform where my Steam version of GTA4 still works on.
