Since there seem to be more people interested in NASCAR on GTM than ever and due to the NASCAR tournament going on, I have decided that I will try my hand at putting together a competition, myself.
 
Using NASCAR Racing 2002 Season, I am going to give everyone the oppurtunity to pick a car number and design a paint scheme for a car which I will put into the game and enter into a single AI race scenario.
 
The race will be at Coca-Cola Superspeedway (A fictional 3 mile superspeedway) and will be 252 miles (84 laps).
 
Damage will be on the moderate setting and there will be NO cautions. 
 
Each AI driver will have the aggression turned all the way up just to make it a bit more exciting.
 
I can even upload a highlight video to Youtube.
 
I hope to make the GTM Shootout an annual event here on the forums.
 

If you are interested in entering, PM me the number you desire. Numbers can be anywhere from 0 to 999. If someone has already chosen the number you desire I will ask you to choose another UNLESS you only want a 50% chance of being in the race. The game randomly chooses one car if there are two identically numbered cars in the roster.

Paint scheme rules:
1) PLEASE put your number on each side of the car AND the roof. Rooftop numbers should be able to be read from the left side of the car.
2) Absolutely no profanity or vulgar images anywhere in the paint scheme.
3) Your car may have sponsors, if you so choose. Just be sure to make them appropriate. No porno site sponsors.
4) Your finished paint scheme MUST be a .tga file.
5) If you are interested in entering, but do not have Photoshop (etc.) Just let me know what number you want and I will make you a car. It will be a very plain paint job, but at least you will be in the race.

I can't use the same skin, but I can probably replicate it on the NR2002 template.

Double post...

After a few tests, I have decided to change the track. The track is now going to be Coca-Cola Superspeedway. It is a 3 mile fictional track in the game for which you can get a patch to make the racing more exciting. More details to come.

I would love to see a full grid competing in this. If you are interested, let me know!

I have it but I'm not on a computer with Photoshop at the moment. The only other alternative is to open the game and try to but uive been working with other programs. I'll see what I can do with later, though.

So, do you want a plain car? (Pretty much black with a white number.) It won't make any performance difference.

I can do that tomorrow or maybe later today. I had to make an adjustment to the roof number. It was upside down from what it is supposed to be. Other than that, I liked the way yours turned out.

Eh... It is kind of possible, but really it would be a waste of time. The videos probably wouldn't be detailed enough to see the face during the race.

Plus, the driver is supposed to wear a helmet. :P

You are correct when it comes to dirt cars and other short track cars, but in NASCAR it should be able to be read on the high banks. It's kind of confusing.

I have a bit of bad news, though... The game only recorded from lap 29 to lap 84 in the replay theater. Most of the action was in the first 5 laps. Therefore, I can't make a highlight video. Those of you who were looking forward to a video, I am sorry.
