Title: NASCAR GameTechMods.Com Cup 2011 season (Finished, congrats to Matt Armoset)

I've decided to restart.

Rules:

For this, you can run a team and create drivers to run in it.

TEAMS

Choose a make (Chevy, Dodge, or Ford)

Choose the number of cars in the team (1-4)

Choose numbers for your cars (0-99 with 00-09 also)

Choose sponsors (must be relevant to 2011, CANNOT be an internet meme, CANNOT be a video game more than a month old)

Owners must skin their team cars THEMSELVES. However, I can skin a car for you if you absolutely cannot skin. I will not accept a 10-second paint skin (a flat color with a number and sponsor I will accept, but not all entries should be that way) . Your car must look like something that would actually race in NASCAR.

Then you must make drivers for your cars.

For your drivers, you must fill out the following stat card (660 points to spend, no stat higher than 100, no stat lower than 60). You don't have to, but if you don't all your stats will be 82.

 Fitness=
 Intimidation=
 Aggression=
 Status=
 Courtesy=
 Completed Laps%=

You must come up with realistic names for your drivers. It doesn't have to be your real name, but make it realistic. I will not allow any names that would not be passed off as real.

I will allow more than 1 user on a team, but try to keep it just your own made up drivers.

Points system:
46 for first
42 for second
41 for third, etc.
The last place car gets 1 point
1 bonus point if you lead any number of laps

There will be no Chase for the Cup as I feel it is stupid. The season will progress without a CftC.

In realistic NASCAR, there is like no Dodges, tons of Toyotas, and like 2 teams of Chevy's and Ford's.

Also you can make 2 drivers if you want, then there would be less empty cars...

I dunno what the heck happened, but I google searched something, went to "images" and it said my comp got infected with about 40 viruses. I ended up having to download an antivirus that scans, but when I tr to use it to clean the viruses, says I have to "activate" it. However, the webpage with the activation code cannot be found.

So now it doesn't let me access my CD drive, which means I can't play NT2003. Which means for the 9001st time, my computer has died on me.

Dammit.

You could always grab Linux from a different computer and manually delete the viruses...

Daytona Overview

Dick Gently won the pole for the Daytona 500, with Rick Metablu starting on the outside. The race started with Gently leading, but he very quickly lost the lead. The lead swapped between 16 drivers, including the likes of Kenny McCormick, Howard Owler, Ben Hampstead, and Drake Archer. On lap 19, Thomas Moran got loose coming off Turn 2, and slid through the grass. The team determined to call it a day after that and brought the car to the garage. Not much else happened besides the numerous lead swaps. Rick Metablu was leading on lap 39, when the white flag dropped. Buddy Geek, however, got a run off of turn 3 and took the high line entering Turn 4. Entering the tri-oval, it looked like Metablu was going to win but Geek managed to speed ahead in a photo finish. The oldest driver in the series was ecstatic after climbing out of his car. "I can't believe we won." Geek said at the winners interview. "I just can't believe it."

FONTANA OVERVIEW

Adrian Wells took the pole for the second race, with Sandy Max starting outside. The 36 car led for a few laps before the lead changed hands. 14 cars led a lap. Drivers like Max Timber and Jason Thorn, who started deep in the field, managed to move into the top 10 near the halfway point. This week there were no DNF's. Last week's winner, Buddy Geek, started 38th but crossed the line 17th. The final lap began with Max Timber holding a sizeable lead against Drake Archer. However, Archer managed to catch Timber on Turn 3, but for a minute looked unable to pass. On the frontstretch however, Drake managed to power by the 4 car in an impressive photo finish.

It really doesn't matter, the 1 point you would have gained by placing 4th wouldn't put you in the points lead :P

LAS VEGAS OVERVIEW

Adrian Wells captured a second consecutive pole for Electric Tiger Motorsports, with Scotty Farm starting on the outside. Wells led the first few laps, but then Farm passed the polesitter and led. Drivers like Max Timber and Jason Thorn, who started near the back, moved toward the front. On lap 39, Ned O.Body scraped the wall and then collided with Vladmir Hydrov. Vlad's car was OK, but Ned's car took serious damage and needed to head to the garage. The final lap was led by Alex Valentine heading in, but Max Timber caught up on Turn 4 and sped to another close finish. Timber won, and Valentine second. The two recorded Angry Badger Race Team's first 1-2 finish, and Timber and Rick Metablu are 1-2 in points.

Also, every race so far has been won by a relative of mine. Problem, GTM? :trollface

ATLANTA OVERVIEW

Max Timber scored the pole, with Scotty Farm starting outside. The race started quickly, and soon a lead pack broke away from the field with about 15 cars in it. 8 cars led a lap. No DNF's in today's race, but Jason Thorn got loose entering Turn 3 near the 1/3 mark and after trying desperately to save it, spun. He managed to pass another car before the race ended, but finished 41st ( :FFFUUU ) Alex Valentine, who started 27th, managed to break into the top 10 at the end. The final lap started with Scotty Farm leading, but soon Matt Armoset looked he was going to catch up, but Farm managed to stick it and won the race.

BRISTOL OVERVIEW

Ben Hampstead took the pole, with  Max Timber starting outside. The race started strong, but the lead changed a lot between few drivers. Not much besides the lead changes happened. On lap 89, 11 to go, Richard Carls spun near the back of the pack. The leaders slowed down, and it created a logjam that caused much shuffling, and also dealt a lot of damage to both the points leader Max Timber and Ned O. Body, causing both to go to the garage. With 2 to go, Rick Metablu was leading, but Matt Armoset caught him and then he had to pit for fuel, causing him to end up 40th. However, Alex Valentine started dead last but finished 13th, the only ABRT driver to end up with a good day. Matt Armoset crossed the finish line a second and a half ahead of Dick Gently, winning the first race that didn't end in a photo finish.

MARTINSVILLE OVERVIEW
Alex Valentine got the pole for today's race, with Ben Hampstead starting outside. The race started great until on Lap 9 Pirate Bull span coming off Turn 4. Bull was already frustrated with starting dead last, and the spin backed up most of the field. Bull just pulled into the garage and called it a day. Valentine gave up the lead to Howard Owler, but he quickly lost it to Scotty Farm, who was untouchable before Matt Armoset took the lead, and led a record 34 laps. Soon after, Cam Torc spun, and the resulting spin spun Austin Waters and caused John Chan to hit the inside wall hard, ending his day on lap 43. This increased Armoset's lead to almost a second before Charlie Bennet blew a tire on lap 60, and another logjam ensued. This caused Team Tea Break to catch Armoset, and after 10 laps Dick Gently caught the 33 car. Soon he was leading, and no one could catch him. Lincoln Burrows, who looked good entering today's race, had to pit early near the middle of the race, and lost a lap. He ended up 37th. Austin Waters, already having a bad day, had to pit with 2 to go, putting him 2 laps down in 39th.  Gently was leading entering the final lap, but Howard Owler looked like he was going to catch up. Gently however crossed the line first, winning Ford's first race this season. Ned O. Body, who entered this race with 2 DNF's and 92 points behind the leader, scored a top-5. Garry Orilla, trailing points with only 30-something points, scored a top-15 and nearly doubled his points total.

For Example:

Matt Armoset: Speed=100

Kenny Cannon: Speed=82

That's almost 20% slower than the points leader.

Thus your cars are being beaten.

PHOENIX OVERVIEW

Lincoln Burrows took the pole, with Max Timber starting outside. Soon a front pack emerged with about 15 drivers in it. Not much else happened. Near the midway point, Nikolai Carbonotsky pitted for a loose wheel and the team emerged on the track a lap down. On lap 50, Pirate Bull, who started last a second consecutive week, was running in 8th when a tire blew. At this point he was too frustrated to even try to attempt to come back and they retired. The final lap started with Sandy Max leading, but he lost the lead to Ben Ambrose and then was passed by Matt Armoset on turns 3 and 4. Ambrose crossed the line first by a long shot, shocking everyone (Ambrose only had 1 top 10 up to this point, and it was at Daytona, no less). Phil Crago, who was 40th in points entering this race, started seventh and was as high as second but finished 23rd.

TEXAS REVIEW

Sandy Max captured the pole, with Scotty Farm starting outside. Soon however, Farm took the lead, but then Max recaptured it. A lot of position shuffling occurred. Around lap 40 things got more spread out. Not much happened, but a lot of people led including surprises Blair Anderson, Dave Bennet and Buddy Geek. Green flag pit stops occurred on lap 57, and it looked like afterwords that Alex Valentine would be the winner. However, other drivers caught up and Adrian Wells crossed the line first, followed by Blair Anderson and then Valentine.Team Tea Break did surprisingly badly, with only Jeff Hampstead and Dick Gently finishing within the top 20. Matt Armoset picked up aonther top-10 finish, and he is beginning to run away with the points lead. Only one DNF, as last week's winner Ben Ambrose blew a tire heading into turn 2 and took the car to the garage (right before the team was gonna pit too LOL). Pirate Bull, after a slow pitstop, was 1 lap down in 41st. Bull is fuming with his team after 2 DNF's and this run. It looked like near the beginning his fortune was gonna turn around too. The finish was by a pretty wide margin however.

POINTS! Matt Armoset is running away with the lead, can anyone stop him? The points got shook up a lot after this race, they will again with Talladega being the next stop on the schedule, a restrictor plate track much like Daytona.

UPDATE

Well I found my NT2003 disc... It's very badly scratched. It doesn't work any more. This is gonna have to end where it is now.

Congrats to S_M for winning the (sadly shortened) championship.

Don't worry though, I should be able to run a NR2003 series for next year if you guys are up for it ;)
