I imagine a few of you have tried this already, an f2p 3rd person shooter with awesome weapon customization that's just come out of beta.
Tried it? What's your setup?
I'm still trying out a few things but currently use a Rifle with the Pyro payload and a Beam with the Heal payload and a couple of scope/magazine changes on each :D

Got it but not tried it.

Very cool game, but it has a very nasty lingering scent of pay2win...

Okay, maybe not, but it's annoying that at the highest level you only get 3 more gun slots and have to pay money for anything else. At least with le fortress it's not as ridiculous. Actually, screw it, I'll do a proper review of this with bullet points and everything.

Soo, the topic of f2p.

Sooooo many f2p games fall into the cesspool of exploiting micro transactions. Soooooo many of them. This one, this lovely little mechanics-of-quake-meets-gore-of-UT2004-and-humor-of-TF2 game seems to have done it right. Micro-transactions set onto cosmetic things only is how it's done. Buuuut... For a game that boasts unlimited weapon customization... ~6 end game weapon slots are pretty crappy. There are probably 50 slots that can be bought in the shop and yeah I know, once you have a weapon you don't have to have many but still. It's kinda silly. Otherwise, they handled f2p pretty well.

Loadouts, weapon customization, customization in general

Weapon customization and tech tree yeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, they certainly have the mettle to back up their weapon customization boasting. If you are terrible at shooting games no matter what you play, in this game you can build a gun that makes you amazing REGARDLESS of how terrible you are. I like that. Character customization requires real money which is the popular choice for f2p but anyway, I like it. Many references.

Gameplay

basically, this game combines everything good in every good shooter ever. That's all I have to say. Really.

Overall, it's a good game but very corruptible. I just hope the dev team do it right.

I think it's awesome how you can't buy the weapon customization currency, you have to play2win in that regard, but you have to pay to have lots of guns or loadouts sure, but then you can just buy the parts you want and change weapons to what you want in weaponcrafting.

Really? I thought there was a premium pack that allowed you to buy an amount of in-game money for real money. Or, maybe I just figure there always is because f2p games tend to do that

There are 2 different in-game currencies, one called 'SpaceCoin' which you can buy and 'Blutes' which you get from playing.
SpaceCoins can be used on stuff like more than 6 gun slots or more than 3 loadout slots and also on all the cosmetics. Essentially the stuff you don't need to win.
Blutes are for weaponcrafting and tech tree advancements. You cannot buy Blutes, which is awesome.
