The best sim for racing, supposedly. I don't have the money to join though. Wondering if there were any members here, or anyone who knew of a free trial?

I have iRacing.
There are some demos out there. But the best thing to do is wait for one of the special promotions on the big races like the Indy 500 ect.

To find those, would they post them on the actual iRacing site, or on another site?

iRacing's site is probally the best place to look. But other sites like VirtualR ect may be good to look at as they post up iRacing news quite often.

Aw, do you -have- to have a steering wheel?
... Actually, I don't really need to say that, aslong as MungoGamer works... (iPod app with a steering wheel interface that lets you connect to your PC through WIFI and use it as a game steering wheel. Works fully)
Still, the monthly subscription is disheartening.

If you guys join, could you put in my email address? Its a referral system, and I did refer you, sooo.... yeah. And I get $10 in iRacing credits for free, which I can use to extend my membership, or buy new cars and tracks. And do not worry about having to buy new cars or tracks. It takes a while to progress to a new series (I have been on for nearly a month and have not gone up yet) , and you can still compete if you are missing a track or two.
And no, I do not have a steering wheel. I bought a ps2 to usb converter for 6 bucks on amazon.com (including shipping), and use my ps2 controller. Works great.
There are hourly races on each hour (some series are 1 every 2 hours, etc.), qualifying each hour, time trials every 2 minutes (literally), and constant practice sessions. Tons of fun, and there is constantly new things, some of it free. (soon some free cars are coming, and you get bunches of free tracks and 3 free cars when you sign up).
We can also add each other as myRacers, and see what each other are doing, race together, etc.
Just PM me for the promo codes, and I will give you my email address. I do not want to post my email address out on the site.

If you want a true racing simulator buy Live for Speed S2.
It cost £20 but it isn't a monthly subscription and it is awesome.
No you don't get real life cars but the cars that are in it are based on real cars.
Here's some links :
The main website where you can download the demo and buy a membership.
http://www.lfs.net/
The forums.
http://www.lfsforum.net/
Live for Speed World.
http://www.lfsworld.net/
Also i had found about iRacing before LFS and i was going to buy it when i found out about lfs.
I recommend trying out the LFS demo and see for yourself.

It doesn't look too bad...
Some more cars of mine.
My normal '34 Legends Coupe (The other was the Rookie version, it has a set setup, races in a different league, etc.)
My Rookie Pontiac Solstice. Its for road courses. They are changing the rookie road racing car (oval is the Legends coupe) to a Mazda MX-5 Miata later this year
My normal Pontiac Solstice
And the SCCA Spec Racer Ford, which is one level above the Pontiac Solstices.
Thats all I get for free cars.

Legends and Modifieds!?!?! <3 <3 <3
I am seriously going to look into this. I was going to join the ARCA sim racing gang last year, but I bailed because the system requirements were too taxing for my old computer. But, I had bought a logitech Momo wheel/petal set at the time as well. I still haven't used it and it would be nice if I did someday.
Going to research the system requirements. If I join up I will let you know so you get credits.
