Ok, ive made the arena, its currently MK I, And Yes, It Will Have A Flipper.

Make a box which is the size limit and post it here. Also, wouldn't it work better if all bots "self" drove (i.e. are auto-on movements)

How do we send them to you? Do we take a screengrab and you replicate it?

No, send me a link in a pm and i tke it and save it, so when you ave check all boxes.

With that arena, whoever starts on the left will automatically lose XD I reckon you should lose the flipper and put a pit at either end :P
Title: Re: Incredibots Robotics Championship
Post by: RedSawn on September 01, 2010, 02:36:25 PM
Hold up, there's a problem with this - unless one of us is an Incredibots supporter (so we can use the flip horizontal/vertical tool) .. the host would be a fair choice for being one.. then we'd have to build two bots, to compete in either corner. Unless the bot in question is invertible or has the same weapon both ways.

I could probably send one of my fully autonomous bots.

Go for it.
Title: Re: Incredibots Robotics Championship
Post by: RedSawn on September 02, 2010, 12:07:54 PM
I take it we're meant to have two versions for either corner then.

Whaaa? You told me nothing about each corner XD ugh, lol.

Heh, he didn't. But it's the only way it makes sense without access to the Horizontal Flip feature! Else we'd have bots designed for the corner they are not positioned in.

Unlikely for a flipper to use it's square back all of the time, eh?

Yeah, I STILL need to mirror mine
Title: Re: Incredibots Robotics Championship

surely it can't be too hard.

A decent mirroring requires precision. Or subscription for the appropriate tool.

Need other side, though. Also, I was wondering about the legality of tyres in this competition.

Your special kind or fixed-joint hubcaps? Either should be fine, though I don't see why you need to look beyond solid tires.
Title: Re: Incredibots Robotics Championship
Post by: Incredirobotwars on September 12, 2010, 03:13:58 AM
Hey! Those tyres provide more traction, as well as softening landings, causing less damage to intricate or fragile systems that could be knocked about in the landing, so there is plenty of reasons to look beyond solid tyres, and onto my design.

Post by: RedSawn on September 12, 2010, 04:42:52 AM
Aaah, sorry. I just remember on my first run of your car tech demo I managed to rip off part of the tread doing one of the jumps. You might be needlessly giving opponents a weak spot, though admittedly it could be difficult getting to them.
Title: Re: Incredibots Robotics Championship
Post by: Incredirobotwars on September 12, 2010, 04:46:36 AM
Doesn't matter if tyres a low-profile, because when they shred they would end up hiding behind the hubcap. Also, the tyres are based on real-life 'unpuncturable tyres', which don't rely on air pressure. However, that does not mean 'unshreddable'. I should probably have changed the size of the jumps, though.

Damn you :P I shouldn't of used my username...
I've actually got an effective VS killer in my (PRIVATE) saves. Can take out stuff about... 3 or 4 times it's own size. It'd be very easy to replicate it for this.  :gawe: And change my entry, perhaps.

If you do that you willl have an awesome bot, but you will be disqualified for spying on the competition.

I'd usually let it slide (because I'm lenient really) but it's not taking inspiration, it's individual targeting.

You're not getting my point :O It can be regulation size for IRW, but what about this, IRC? Is it suitable according to the maximum dimensions rectangle?

I never used that in the first place...so I may be at a tactical disadvantage that won't matter.
