Title: How do you decide what is your 50 greatest games of all time?

This is my goal this month and I can't think of a way to do it.

So if you had to do this how would you decide to put in it?

I'd work my way from the top down then go over the list afterwards and make any changes I feel are necessary.
1. Star Wars: Knights Of the Old Republic
2. System Shock 2

6. Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess (eat it OoT fanboys)

Because despite popular belief sequels generally lack a lot of faults from their predecessors.

I don't even think I've played 20 games, at least I don't remember that many well enough to rank them all.

Nobody said anything about ranking, he's just listing his top 50 games (in no particular order, I assume).
 
I've played more than 50 games in my life but most so long ago I don't remember them that well.  As for which games get on the list, with such a long list, usually it will be highly correlated with whatever games you happen to have played and moderately enjoyed at some point in your life, and not necessarily with any inherent value in the actual games.

Start with 2 games that you know will make the list, decide which one you like better.  then, get a third game and rank it in relation to the two you've ranked.  It helps if you have a whiteboard and those magnetic strip thingees like like the Top Gear Leaderboard.


Also congratulations, this is one of the whitest First World Problems I've heard in a long time.
