Lately, I had this random little thought- if we've already got a thread dedicated to a GTM Super Smash Brothers, why can't we do it with say, a Kart Racing game? Thus, I came up with this thread, in which we discuss things that could be in it, like say, items, tracks, characters, and battle arenas. Here are some ideas to get us started.
ITEM IDEAS-
These should be generally RA2 Related, if Possible- items can be picked up in the form of the DSL "Weapons" window icons from the Bot Lab.
Razor Tips (Can be thrown onto the road behind you in patches of three- if you run over them, you spin out)
Supervolt Battery (Provides a temporary burst of speed)
Chewblade (Launched either in front of or behind you, and can reflect- if an opponent hits it, they flip)
Clown Head Bomb (Can be rolled straight forward or behind, exploding upon impact with a wall or another car- hard to aim, but very powerful, capable of flinging opponents into the air)
Rep Points (These appear in all tracks- run them over them to collect them. As you do so, your speed will gradually increase.
You'll lose some of them if you get attacked, spin out, or go off-course, but if you get the maximum of 10, you can access more powerful versions of items)
Unique Item (An item that can only be used by a certain character- can be both offensive or defensive, but can only be collected after obtaining 10 rep points)
CHARACTER IDEAS-
Each character has unique stats, a unique item, and their own special car, as well as a standard kart.
EXAMPLE:
GF93 (Middleweight)
Car:
Blue Lightning

, but in a Cobalt Blue colour)
A sleek and powerful sports car that GF93 considers to be his pride and joy on the GTM Circuit. It boasts high speed, acceleration and on-road grip, but lacks speed off-road, and has below-average handling.
Unique Item:
ARMOUR FUSION
GF93 fuses with his ST Battle Suit to give his car the ability to automatically blast down the middle of the track at breakneck speed, knocking aside any cars that he collides with.
He also gains the ability to fire explosive laser shots in the general direction of cars to his side by pressing the Item button as he does so.
Once it finishes after a short period of time, he calls the suit away from him and continues racing as normal.
FOTEPX (Lightweight)

A supercharged Dodge Viper GTS, that FOTEPX has had since he was very young. When he isn't racing, he's polishing, when he isn't polishing, he's racing. Fast speed, both on and off-road, but medium acceleration and handling, and is quite fragile.
Unique Item:
NUCLEAR VORTEX
Automatically warps FOTEPX into 1st place, but has a 1/20 chance of backfiring and sending FOTEPX into last.

NFX (Middleweight)
Speed: 6/10
Acceleration: 8/10
Turn: 7/10
Grip: 6/10
Toughness: 3/10
How to unlock: Beat Tournament Mode on Middleweight difficulty.
A slim-built male of average height, with quite long light brown hair. Wears matte black racing overalls with red detail, and a red visor similar to Geordi La Forge from Star Trek.
CAR
Virus XP-1
A technologically advanced racing buggy that NFX spent years designing, analysing, calculating and programming. Though it's not the sturdiest set of wheels on the circuit, it has decent grip both on and off road, and an average top speed, but lightning acceleration and fantastic handling make this a tough opponent on the twisting, technical circuits.

UNIQUE ITEM
Power Trip
NFX triggers a radio jammer on his dashboard that completely shuts down all other cars on the track for between 5 and 10 seconds. With his opponents immobile, NFX can drive his way through the field, bringing him back into contention.
SIGNATURE TRACK
The Data Fields
An electronic raceway featuring fibre-optic boost lanes, plenty of tricky 90 degree bends around microchips, and timed electiric gates that stop racers dead in their tracks.

Note: Don't make your Kart too good, like having a 5 Star Everything. Make it have some strengths, some weaknesses, and some average abilities.

Every 10 seconds, the spinner in the center spins and lands on a color. That color's platforms will disappear for 10 seconds before they come back and another spin ensues.
Unique Item: Toy Tank
It turns Wacky Bob's Kart into:

In addition, it also makes him and his Kart huge, so he can smash anyone in his way.
Doomkiller
Heavyweight

Bassline. Twin turbo v12 RWD gives this car some serious grunt. High top speed and handling, middle range acceleration but low off-road capabilities.
Unique Item
Mega Bass
Bassline speakers come into play with this item. As the mega bass is played, the cars around Bassline loss control, and if too close, get blown away. The speakers are so loud, that the sound waves can actually be seen. This last for around 15-20 seconds, and decreases Bassline handling by a bit during the use of this item

Unique Item:
"Recklessness Dash", which is more like an ability rather then a weapon.
J's Kart's stats drop to 2/2/2/2 if you pick up an item, and you cant use it until 30 seconds later. Oh, and J's Kart can do Power Slides easier, while the driver isn't holding any items.
Why would I make my kart like this? Because it reflects me playing PS1-Crash Team Racing.
Oh, and I'm an unlockable 'secret' character.
