Wel GeneRally is all sorts of racing, Offroad included. Infact, I think most of the tracks are offroad.

Its free to download and you can additionally download a Car editor, if you know how to work with just Polygons and Vertexes, it should be a cakewalk for you to get the hang of the editor.

Huh, sounds nice, but in my opinion wouldnt a time attack style be better? Like players do a few laps and then post their best time with screenshot/video proof?

Why would you need to pack your game? The game is free to download and the tracks and cars are free too, you just point us to the correct download links from wich you got them.

These cars are downloaded from racesimcentral.com but it has crashed and you cant download from there anymore

Then I gues you really need to pack the game, it shouldnt really take too long, I mean the game itself is only 4mb the extra cars cant make up more than 10mb, right?

Also this way anyone who doesnt know how to install the cars into correct dirocories wont have problem as it would be just extract and play.

also, I seem to be downloading heaps of cars, but does anyone know where I can get the christmas version of this game? its meant to have a bonus car, a sliegh car and santafest track

So? I can make brackets example: 12 cars, 2 eliminator rounds and 1 final. Eliminator 1. 6 cars battles but 3 continues to final same with eliminator 2, 6 other cars battles and 3 continues. And in the final... Well you know.

It's out of season, but S15 is apparently opening sometime in March.

Get Growler Guncam - it's built for first person shooters, but that's why it's the best.
You need optimal FPS to do well in a shooter, and I've experienced NO or NEGLIGIBLE FPS drops from using it. Which makes it perfect.

So I use it for any videos I do.

So far I have gotten first place in the "Smallest car" category.  XD

And I don't think the field is balanced either... mainly because each car probably handles and performs similar to it's real life counterpart.  On the last race my Clio did well because there were a lot of turns and such... this time it did pretty bad because it appears this track had a lot more straights and demanded horsepower.  The regular Clio does not have a lot of horsepower.

Just speculating here.  Great races jonzu :D

Well, it's literally a season of road racing. Was thinking of two race classes with 6 drivers in each - Compact and Saloon. Driving on race circuits and ovals.

Both will have 6 car choices - they all have different characteristics, some might be better then others, others might be good on particular tracks but they tend to form a good pack. Breakaways are possible though, in either direction. It's most likely to do with pitting though.

Can't decide between 5 kilometer or 10 kilometer races. Not sure about upgrades. Was thinking of an "experience" level out of the AI skill, but even 10 pts difference is pretty unbalanced.

Even if the physics/car data each car is the same, actually, even the model itself can make a small or major difference.

Try lowering the driver's head in Juan's Car Editor - this is not just a visual change - but in fact it even influences the centre of gravity of the car. More minor "tuning" with models can include shortening the wheelbase for quicker turn-in, wider width between wheels to raise stability, and it can go on...

I learned this the hard way in the old GeneRally competition "Formula Silhouette Series".

I am pretty good with that car editor, it just takes time. Lots of it. So I quess I could do something of that sort S32, just provide me with good enough pictures of the cars and I see what I can do.

I managed to make a Jet shape, bu I couldnt get the collision to work out quite well, first it was too small and the whole thing went halfway inside objects, after changing it it was so big it hit things before the shape of the jet did. I srapped the whole thing because it was anywas so big that it would touch the car next to it in the starting grid.

To those of you in this thread that are interested, I am working on making cars for an AI driver's tournament, similar to Jonzu's one but with more "depth", like a team manager RP game.

I think you start out leading the first lap, then you slip behind during laps 2 and 3. Since the cars ahead of you don't have fresh tires and full gas during laps 2 and 3, you get fastest lap.

Awesome,. Yes, let's have those finals.
Looking at the average speeds.. I was the slowest of the winners by far, the fastest lap was much slower in my heat, and it's apparent that the other heats had close podium finishers for a 40 second race.

As such.. hoping I understand the finals system enough (1st and 2nd through) ... I'll predict the outcome.

Dah, got my predictions all wrong. However, everyone stayed within their own heat. (As in, the two people of a heat finished distinctively together)

Looking at the results, while people have probably already figured it out, that should be the final nail in the coffin that people's cars are differently matched.

If they were evenly matched then me and Temi wouldn't be over 12 seconds behind.. in a 40 second race.
Same, but less so for Jack and 090901.

I've been running 10 kilo races for ages (Usually lasts around 2 minutes) , balancing my cars, and at the most, last place is behind by 8 seconds.
6% of a 19~24 lap race slower... rather then over 34% in 3 laps.

Could of been a one off in this case but suspicions could be thrown over other races. And the fact the race was distinctly seperated at the finish by what heat the people were in.

5+ second gaps are pretty nuts for 40 seconds races, as I mentioned before, when the race has no faults (Like serious crashes)

EDIT: I think I was a bit skeptic. I looked through old results and found they were much better matched. It seems really weird still.. but eh.

Heh, you should get SnakeDitor. That's how most people make their tracks now. With a little use of the official track editor around the end.

Doing good for your first few tracks. :) Might wanna make the roads bigger and more spaced out, they're all pretty tight, less so Cestrim.

Try adding hills and mountains. Slopes on the road can really give a track an extra dimension.
Try adding more scenery around the track.

What do you guys think of that kind of tournament for generally where we first vote for 1 car that everyone will use, then everyone gets to spend a few points on Grip and Slowdown settings for all ground types. I could do that after this one finishes.

I want to thank all, who entered for this. I recieved 20 Entries, but only few of them were interested of this.
GeneRally RallyCross Cup 2 Will maybe start on next year, or end of the year. But now, I'm hosting a Secret RallyCross cup, including you all, plus lots of my relatives & Friends.
There are 73 Cars atm, and I'm collecting more and more, when someone wants to join.
