This post is like the filler episodes for every anime ever.

(note: spoilered because possibly huge images- taken directly from steam's screenshots- will fix if told to)

Now, for the obligatory.

Tankslapper 1.5, because it's a bit like both versions, and nothing like either one. I can't do replicas. But I figured, hey, it's kurty's bot, why not bring it with me?

These bots are pretty much in their final version. Clockwise from the top:
Crazy 8: Totally not nocturne, HW
Science FIDSI: my first, best and (before ts1.5) only flipper, HW
Creep: first, possibly only house robot, WHo knows, I forgot the weight
Xenohaunt 2: 2nd, bigger, nastier version of my second-first bot, HW
Xenohaunt: my first bot, but I lowered the weight to account for the size. The original flying green turd, MW
Tankslapper 1.5: There will be Kurtsokei!, HW
Industry FIDSI: The final version of the first successful robot I made, HW

Not pictured: Komachi, the 4wd mustache comb, HW

Most of the doodads and flibbledoodles on my bots are wired to one button because I have a controller, so I can keep using the same controls.
Crazy 8 spins up, Science FIDSI flips, XH2's alien head gives off a beam of light, ts1.5 flips and Industry FIDSI has an exhaust pipe that fires up. XH has ghostly eyes that light up on a different button, and Creep was edited by Robo to be usable for everyone, alongside making the scoop flip and adding a flywheel to the back.

These robots are total failures that I tried to do and I am not sure how to revise them. From the top, down:
Super 8: Predecessor to Crazy 8, because I wanted to have a spinner like everyone else. Does less damage than a weed whacker, HW
Schism: the massive bot that barely fits in the pit. The size is one reason why I stopped working on it, but it's also fragile as hell and likes to kill itself. HW
Morningstar: I may work on this one again, because I like the idea of a thwackbot, but at the end of the day, gmod's physics hate it and it is a pain to drive. HW
Breen Machine: the very tiny one on the left. I wanted to build a FW and make it decidedly silly, so I took breen's statue, put it on an engine block with some wheels and gave it a towering pillar of hats. It's hilarious, but it also sucks. FW

So that's there, if anyone cares to look. I'll be glad to answer questions and stuff.

I'm on it now. I managed to put actual rotating wheels on a cube but it wasn't very fond of moving :P

Haha. There are some little tricks and rules we'll have to show you. It's quite easy to make a bot in GMod once you've made your first working one. I'll try and catch you on the server when I get home.

That's brilliant. It'll be series 3 champ :) Are you using the Wheel tool? In which case, that robot is illegal. If you want it to move, try thrusters and changing the weight. Wheels must be attached as props using the Axis tool.

I'm hosting GMod Battlebots in celebration of a new series of Battlebots next summer!
The main rules will stay the same (which you can read here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/garryswars).

All fights will be in the the 2015 Battlebox.
The tourney layout will be the same as the show, with 24 robots.
For this competition the weight limit has been increased to 1250kg.
Only Heavyweights may compete.
Hosted on the 12th of December. (possibly two days)

As it stands now, me and Tibbles will be the colour and play-by-play commentators respectively. I won't be entering as I will use Battlebots as an opportunity to relax and help out in the pits, so if you have a super secret weapon you need help with, feel free to consult me and I'll give you a helping hand.

If I'm not on, I'd recommend talking to Robo and possibly KOS or The Ounce.

The reason I am posting this is because this is my chance to give to the community of Garry's Wars and help any apprehensive and aspiring builders that will drop it because they don't think they are good enough. Mouldy's tutorial helps with the bedrock foundations of building but nothing more, you are best off learning from the Vets. I'll try my best to do some tutorials of my own for the more needed basics and tips.

tl;dr I'll help anyone who feels they can't build well.
