Title: Games you miss.
Post by: System32 on March 06, 2011, 02:41:22 PM
What games did you lose and wish you could play again?

I'll start with Cel Damage Overdrive:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmvgPl1vOck# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmvgPl1vOck#)

And Jackie Chan adventures: the video game.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG514N-wYjM# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG514N-wYjM#)

Both of which are awesome.

Man you made me nostalgic and sad.  I miss Missionforce so bad. Unfortunately it is not compatible with newer operating systems.  I might have to dig my old Dell out and make it a retro-gaming machine.

That's how I remember it. I always raced in the Catapult, Stealth or this odd one that looked kinda like a fish. It had a weird name too...

Dragon Warrior Monsters.  There's this monster called Warabou that can only be gotten through a complicated series of breeding monsters.  I made this huge family tree on Inspiration and then I went and lost it  :frown: .  I can't remake it because I've since forgotten the wild-encounter frequencies that I used in constructing the tree.

The game works fine, but I've got a bunch of freshly-bred mosnters that I have no idea what to do with.  I guess I might as well restart and hope it can save data.

I miss Star Wars Tie Fighter. That was one of the best sci-fi shooters.

Games we missed is a pretty vague term, so I'll treat it that way: (EDIT: I didn't notice you clarify what "miss" meant on the first post. Oops.)

Speedball 1 or/and 2, released in 1988/1990 respectively. Futuristic high-contact sport based around scoring in various ways (Hitting targets, scoring goals, knocking the opposing players out cold) I missed this one in the terms of lost hours because hey, I wasn't born yet. But I got the new iPhone version of Speedball 2, and it's pretty much taken over my mobile activities.

Poy Poy. 1st game released in 1997, the 2nd in 1999. Gameshow revolving around beating the heck out of your opponents with objects on the stage. I still have and occasionally play Poy Poy 2 (In fact it's a rare game, I think it was going for £40~50 when I checked) but I wish there was more. It was a brilliant series, why did Konami have to can it?

OH HELL YEAH

Personally, Spyro 2 was better, but Spyro 3 was just like OH HELL YEAH.
Spyro the Dragon is the manliest of the original 3. Only because its all dark and junk, Gnorks use guns, lotsa' sword slashin', etc, etc..
Spyro 2's Perma-Superflame is wonderful. But there are AT LEAST 5 minigames that make me want to wretch.
Specifically, Alchemist part 1 and 2, Breezebuilder Cart-game, and that friggin soup chef.
Spyro 3 is fun as heck, EXCEPT for the Bently Boxing and MAYBE 1 other minigame, but aside from that, Spyro 3 is awesome.

Honestly, I broke a PS2 Slim in 4 MONTHS.
Ive had a PS2 Slim, for like, ever now.

Are you referring to the one where Boone wanted you to pull the Green Dome off the top of the building in Beverly Hills? I found that alright, but I'm pretty good at mashing one button over and over again as one of the traits of Tourette's I have.

BUMP:
A game I miss is Heretic.
What it is is a doom clone that was....actually decent. It was basically what would happen if you mixed together Doom's engine and D&D together.

My game that I miss would be Doom for PS1 (I had it when I was 5 lol) and the console would be NES

Robot Wars, the board game.

Frankly, I miss Final Fantasy VII. My brother got the game Christmas of 1997, and it got stolen along with a multitude of other discs, both CD's and PlayStation discs around the year 2000. Never was able to complete it, either.

However, I'm somewhat tempted to get a copy from one of the local used game stores here in Toledo. The only problem is I don't know if I want to pay the $30-35 necessary to play the game successfully (the game itself costs $30, and I'm unsure how much a PS1 memory card costs nowadays).
