you could try
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

I think it was only the discontinued 60GB version that played PS2 games. I'm not entirely sure about buying them on the Marketplace or whatever the equivelant is, I know you can buy PsOne games on it. It's to do with the incompatibility between the DVD and Blu-Ray formats the two consoles operate with.

Only the 60GB had proper backwards compatibility, then they removed the chips that allowed you to play PS2 games in order to reduce the price (if I remember correctly). I think that Singstar may be an exception to this, but that may just be that it can recognise the disc so that you can unlock additional content in the PS3 version (I can't remember if you are able to play the PS2 versions or not, nor can I remember if there were any other PS3 games that used PS2 games). I'm pretty sure that I tried playing a PS2 game on the PS3 I have (it didn't work, so I played a PS1 game instead).

Well based on what I've experienced, PS3 systems base on where the disck came from.

For example PS3 from america reads disk from america only.

My PS3 is 2 yrs old and it came from KSA.

Lolwut? Can't remember my PS3 having a regionlock.

Anyway, 80GB can't read the PS2 discs, but lately, few PS2 games have appeared in the PSN Store. I bought Seek & Destroy there and it works fine.
Annoying to have to re-buy the games in order to play them on PS3, but I don't mind it all too much.

I've got a 60GB one and that can definitely play PS2 games. Someone just dumped it in a building skip outside our house and nobody ever claimed it so it's mine nowwww hahahahah.

Lol win. You know you could also go modding and put a 1TB HDD in there. Some friend of mine did that with his, though that was an 80GB.

Also, add me on PSN? Mine can be found in my sig.

First Gen PS3 had a literal PS2 inside it (hardware, etc) pretty sure this was the big fat 60gb one

Second time around was software emulation but was rather buggy for some games and didnt support anything so they gave it the axe.. (early releases of the fat 40gb and 80gb ones)

Thats just from memory though lol, did a lot of research into it when buying my PS3 because I own countless PS2 games..

Well guys, I found THIS in the manual:
"This PS3 has LIMITID backwards compatibility with PS2 games."
So my PS3 has BC?

Pretty sure that all of them have a limited backwards compatibility, there is probably a list of all of the PS2 games that work.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_backward_compatible_PlayStation_2_and_PlayStation_games

May or may not be right, I have no idea. I will be checking Ratchet and Clank at some point though.

You actually would've been better off buying a current gen ps3 & a ps2 as it is actually cheaper than the $300+ price point of the older ones (A mistake I learned the hard way a couple days ago). That is unless you got it when the backwards compatable ones were still being sold. Then my advice holds no meaning
