Title: Daytona USA 2: Battle on the Edge; Power Edition
Post by: Hard Bot on January 27, 2012, 08:16:39 PM
It is a really epic game. Cars:
BEGINNER: Chum's Gum(AT), J.C. Eagle(MT)
TYPICAL: Scorpio Plasma(AT & MT)
HARD; Phanton Full Force(AT & MT)
SPECIAL: Hornet Classic Racing(AT & M; only on Power Edition)
It is in arcades, but they made it for MAME, too.

Nope, everything's better with ninjas. Your argument is invalid.

While this may be true in most cases, it is not in this one.

I have cooler stuff in mine.

Title: Sorry for a bump; here is a short FAQ for this game.
Post by: Hard Bot on February 12, 2012, 09:42:18 PM
This is one of the best racing games. It's called Daytona USA 2. There are 2 versions: Battle on the Edge and Power
Edition. SEGA wanted to make a decent racing game, and I am sure that's true.

The cars:

Ex. Level: Easy
Model: Chevy Monte Carlo
Top Speed: 1
Acceleration: 2
Handling: 3
Weight Destribution: Handling
Notes: For Power Edition, Chum's Gum was renamed J.C. Eagle, as it was considered "too childish." The AT version
resembles Richard Petty's STP car.

Scorpio Plasma
Ex. Level: Medium
Model: Pontiac Grand Prix
Top Speed: 2
Acceleration: 2
Handling: 2
Weight Destribution: All-around peformance
Note: The AT resembles the Ice Man's Corn Flakes car, and the MT resembles Kyle Petty's Hot Wheels car.

Phantom Full Force
Ex. Level: Hard
Model: Ford Thunderbird
Top Speed: 3
Acceleration: 2
Handling: 1
Weight Distribution: Speed
Note: The AT resembles Dale Earnhart's "Black 3 Plus" car.

Hornet Classic
Ex. Level: Speical, for fans of Daytona USA 1
Model: Chevy Lumina
Top Speed: 1
Acceleration: 3
Handling: 2
Note: The car was only made for Power Edition. It was not Implented for Battle on the Edge.

The tracks:

Astro Waterfalls/SEGA International Speedway
Difficulty: Beginner
Laps: 8
Length of 1 lap: 1.00 mile
Course type: Indoor stadium (Astro Waterfalls); Speedway (SEGA International Speedway)
Note: Astro Waterfalls was replaced for Power Edition because it did not have hardcore apeal NOR an actual safe
place to race at. SEGA International Speedway resembles the real-life Daytona International Speedway. The track(s)
begin on a rolling start.

Fantasy Amusment Park
Difficulty: Average-ability
Laps: 4
Length of 1 lap: 2.25 miles
Course type: Road Course running through different locations
Note: The tracks time at day changes through going into sections.

Virtua City/New Joke City
Difficulty: Expert
Laps: 2
Length of 1 lap: 5.75 miles
Course type: City race
Note: For Power Edition, Virtua City was renamed to New Joke City.

Mix
Difficulty: Challenging
Laps: 1
Length of 1 lap: 8.00 miles
Course type: Mash-up of all tracks
Note: It was made for Power Edition. It was not inplented for Battle on the Edge.
