I'm trying to get into the Legend of Zelda series, especially the 3D versions, but I don't know where to start (The 2D games' controls were too fiddly for my taste). What would be a good Zelda game to start with if I'm looking for one with a gentle learning curve?

The timeless classic, Ocarina of Time of course. Or Wind Waker, but that doesn't really have the same feel.
Visually, Majora's Mask is a lot prettier than OOT, but it's a lot harder.

I've never played any Zelda games, but I've heard for most of my friends that Ocarina Of Time is a fantastic game. I thought it came in two parts.
But whatever you do, do NOT try and put the Zelda games in any form of chronological order. Your brain will explode. My brain took 3 days to fully reboot after I tried it.

Majora's Mask is the shift in the timeline, after that it branches off into 2 directions. One of which is the cartoon versions (Windwaker, Minish Cap, etc.) and the other branch is the Adult Link versions (Twilight Princess, etc.)
