Been digging around...

I was digging in my Dads old video game. I was looking for a shooting game he used to play. The game initials were UA. The A stood for Arenas, but I cant remember what the U was. If somebody could tell me  what the game was thad be great. I also found,*Diggs in CD box*StarCraft Brood War, havnt check that out yet, Myth the Total Codex 1 and 2(Never heard of these games in my life), Balours Gate ll Shadows of Amin and Balours Gate ll Throne of Bhaal(Also never heard of this game) And Diablo. Diablo is really fun! Anyone know of any other games like Diablo, that are FREE.( Possibly a place I can download Diablo 2 and 3 for free.)

Diablo is really awesome.  The perennial Hack and Slash dungeon crawler.

Baldurs Gate is very similar to Diablo.

Myth the Total Codex is real-time strategy like Command and Conquor.  (I rather like that game btw, haven't played it in ages)

Baldurs gate and Diablo 2 are your best bets for Dungeon Crawlers after you finish the original Diablo.

If you have a PS2 in the house, Champions of Norrath is also a blast like Diablo.  Even more fun in 2 player mode.

Haha, you got a long way to go.  I think I played it daily for two solid months to beat it.  Dying in a crowded place is awful.  You drop all your stuff.  When you respawn back at the town... you have to go back to get your stuff.  If there is a ton of baddies still there... good luck.  I had to abandon many a good sword and shield because I couldn't fight my way back to them.

I just figured out what that game was! After some researching I found it. It was Unreal Tournement. God I loved watching my dad play that game. Also, Im hooked on those Hack 'n Slash Games. Suggest any that are free or downloadable?

Baldur's Gate (I and II, but II is better) is especially awesome. Though it is in no way very similar to Diablo. Baldur's Gate is basically Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in video game form, and Diablo is a hack and slash/roguelike. Diablo is much more axed on combat, and you have only one character.


Diablo II is a huge classic, and Diablo III isn't out yet. I'm waiting for it though. I also played Diablo I but it was "meh" compared to the II, though there was more choice in classes.

Others oldie RPGs that I would recommend : Neverwinter Nights, Planescape Torment (particularly enjoyable if you care a bit about intellectual matters. Also you can be a complete villain in this game, which gives bonus points from me. Also, the high level spells are damn cool looking) and TES III : Morrowind which is a damn masterpiece.

Brood War requires the full version of Starcraft to play
Just buy Diablo 2 is pretty cheap these days,
Diablo 3 hasnt even been released yet, it got pushed back to release Starcraft 2 first (THANK YOU BLIZZARD)

For Diablo like games, try Sacred and Sacred Underworld.. very much like Diablo but I tend to think a little more fun in some aspects, should be able to pick Sacred gold up for around $10 on ebay (Gold edition contains both Sacred and Sacred Underworld)
