Atari/Infograms selling all game assets
« on: May 23, 2013, 06:57:54 PM »

Atari filled for bankruptcy back in January, now it appears they are selling off their gaming assets.

The major assets being sold include

Roller Coaster Tycoon Franchise which is going for a minimum bid of $3.5 million, Test Drive Franchise which is going for a minimum bid of $1.5 million and Total Annihilation going for a minimum bid of $250 thousand dollars.

There is currently no word as to what will happen with all of Atari/Infograms ips as of yet. Meaning that the future fate of franchises such as Baulder's Gate, Alone in the Dark, Robot Arena and more are unknown.

Atari hopes to make $22 million through the auction.

Atari's last published video game was Special Forces: Team X which released February 6 2013 on Steam and Xbox Live Arcade.

watch as someone buys the ra2 source for $1.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

That won't be for a few days right now; all Atari has done is ask the judges to allow this auction to happen. Once it does, we'll need to see exactly how much Atari wants for the Robot Arena IP (if they sell it at all) before we can get a move on.

Doubting this but do you think anyone would make an RA3 if they got the IP for it?

I assume it will be packaged with a bunch of other games, and the guy who buys it won't even realize he has it.

Let's pray that someone picks up Robot Arena that actually cares about it. My hope is that it gets a Wii U release at the very least with online and Miiverse support.

Awesome, I was just trying to get back into this game (been having some problems with the PC that all of my games are on, and I haven't really tried to get it fixed up since then in either 2010 late/early 2011 until now) and I see this news.

I hope that someone buys it and we can get something new with RA2. I'd love to see someone make a new game like this with built in programs for making custom components and arenas.

Planning on it, I haven't been able to play in a while, hopefully once I do get everything with the PC fixed (had to wipe the HD around the time I stopped posting, but I still have my RA2 files on a flash drive, and there is still some issue with Windows XP installing correctly) I'll be able to get back to playing regularly.

I saw that the NAR AI pack got much bigger too, so I'll need to download that again too.

Robot Arena is probably dead...

...but, perhaps the new owner could release an open RA2 on Steam?

Why can't just say "welcome back" or something like a normal person instead of jizzing your pants when an old member comes back?

Sonny is probably right though. They will most likely sell off the older or less popular games in bundles.

Or it won't be for sale... I still think the source code for RA2 was probably lost somehow and they just don't want to admit making such a stupid mistake.
