Upgraded the armour to 10mm Titanium. Now weighs 739.7.

Good, but you still have an extra 60+ to use. Put perhaps spikes on the sides? Would look better and also stop it from being stuck on it's side

Also if you want to take your hand in making your own skins for your robots, just export your bot's template in the paint shop and then go to custom textures and edit it with your preferred image editing software.
Battlebots 7: LW Quarterfinals - Voltergeist
Battlebots 7: MW Quarterfinals - Dr. Demolition
Battlebots 8: MW Quarterfinals - Dr. Demolition
Battlebots 9: HW Quarterfinals - Texas Tornado
Battlebots 9: Middleweight Champion - Dr. Demolition
Minor Inconveniences: Runners-up - Hot Rod/Voltergeist
TGRR2 IRL: Texas Tornado 11 wins - 10 losses

I don't think it can get stuck on its side. There is the smallest flat panel next to the wheels so it would need to be a very accurate flipper to get the robot onto that area. The blade spinning also would off balance it when it got onto that panel and it has the skirt at the front and low ground clearance everywhere else so I don't think it is worth worrying about. I've also taken your advice and built a second version to middleweight rules called The Little Point. The armour has been lightened and the spike place at the front. It is extremely fast now.

Also if you want to take your hand in making your own skins for your robots, just export your bot's template in the paint shop and then go to custom textures and edit it with your preferred image editing software.
That is going to get done once I've finalised the design. I've still to try it however.

I like it. Reminds me of something you'd see on an earlier series of Robot Wars. Those skirts don't have a lot of HP though so what I would do is swap it out for three 40cm aluminum skirts (under the Extenders tab). However, it won't mesh as well with the chassis width, so if you want to keep the skirt for looks that's fine :D

Welcome back, btw.

ah, the middleweight version looks rather nice. as for the heavyweight version, I dunno, depends on your own creativity.

or try and fill it with other weapons.

and make it a lame and messy hybrid ? No.

Giraffe, If you want to make it a poker/VS hybrid (by that I mean a bot who has a pneumatic burst weapon system and a vertically spinning weapon system), go on right ahead. Just don't put weapons in multiple directions unless your bot's tactic is to spin on itself, which is clearly not the case.

Simply place the poker forward, facing like the VS. Note that poker and VS don't go together, although maybe you can make it work.

A few updates to the robots now. I have managed to put a blade on the Little Point and keep it within the middleweight limits at 392.3. The spike is now gone and it weighs 392.3. I have also skinned the robot and has its bigger brother but kept the bare metal look as I think it matched its aesthetic.

I have also managed to create another robot, this time a full body spinner. It is called Corryvreckan and is named after the deadly whirlpool off the west coast of Scotland. It weighs 763.7 and has a Dual Perm 132 Gearbox attached to 3 DSL Hammers. It uses 2 TWM3R Drive motors and 4 Ant Batteries. It has 3mm Titanium for armour.

Remove the nonmotorized wheels on that HS, they're doing nothing.

add another ant battery, get NPC or NPCF, and then fit the chassis to your components.

Your skins are cool. I'd recommend resizing the skin template to 256x256 so your text can be clearer.

also I second the more drive movement.

Didn't have enough space for NPC motors so I've used TWM3R2s instead. It it faster and more manoeuvrable. I've not added another battery as I thought the rules were 1 per motor + 1 spare and i've already got 4.

I prefer it with 4 wheels, and you can do more low?, but lengthen the hammer is a little more?, looks good, but these designs have serious problems of instability (they lose a weapon)

Try to make the chassis lower, make the chassis smaller, post weight & armour.
If DSL3, keep the drive motors the same and use 2 or 3 long batteries instead of ants.
If DSL2, use TWM3R Drives instead of TWM3R2s.

You're not doing anything wrong, but that's just the nature of HS. They don't need to be fast, but they need to be strong.

Speaking of fast, those 2-Mags are actually worse drive motors than NPC-T64 Fast. If you're building DSL-Standard, then you could rotate the NPCFs (use the left and right ones) so that they fit in the chassis. Then, put Hypno-disc wheels (often called "hypnos") on them. Wheels that are diagonal from each other are fairly common in both DSL-S and Stock standard, since standard building is about making the most effective bot possible.

Now the spinner... did you know that the 4-mag and 6-mag actually spin faster than the Dual Perm? The only bad thing about this is that they have less torque than the Dual Perm. Here's a chart of the three spin motors' weights, Maximum speed and torque

4-Mag: 110kg, 213 maximum speed, 29 torque
6-Mag: 150kg, 250 maximum speed, 35 torque
Dual Perm: 220kg, 200 maximum speed, 68 torque

Generally, people prefer Dual Perms to the 4-mags and 6-mags for higher torque and being easier to work with than the latter, but either the 6-mag or the Dual Perm are good for HW. 4-Mags are better for Cruiserweights (CW), which are an uncommon sub-class of HW that weigh up to 600kg.

What is the weight and armor? I won't know if you have the weight for the things we tell you that you should have if I don't know what you have to work with. It's like being given a design challenge without a clear materials list.

FALSE.
Tornado Mer Gearboxes can be used efficiently for simple, powerful MWs, or they can also be used for fancy HWs. 4-Mags are best for CW, but can be used for HW classes too.

Actually, now that you mention it, I made a SHW that used two 4-mags. It would be good... if it didn't AGOD, AGODDAMNIT :vista:

But yeah, helloface is right. Although for HW Shell spinners, which use a heavy shells to hold the weapons, 6-mags and dual perms are preferred over everything else (mostly dual perms). Just putting this here in case you want to build a shell spinner.
