Team Warpstorm bots
« on: May 19, 2008, 09:38:45 PM »
So, I'm not the greatest bot builder, but I've managed to make a few decent ones ;)

My Heavyweight Full Body Spinner Whirligig versus Dreadnought. As you can see, I removed both his wheels, and his disc was lying somewhere around the arena. I've also had good fights against Nightmare where I literally picked him apart piece by piece :D

Only downside is, Whirligig is a bit unstable. 2 wheels and a Dual Perm-132 for the weapon make for one high-flying bot depending on how my hit goes.

Anklebiter, picking on S3. Uses the Tornado Mer Mag Motor for the hammers. Based off Son of Whyachi obviously ;)

Hellacopter. This thing lives up to it's name by  frequently launching itself high into the air on contact. Useful? No. Amusing. Very.

Feel free to make suggestions on how to improve them, as I know i'm obviously not the best designer :P

Well, Anklebiter is a bit cramped, as I went for a super-compact design.  Somehow, I still made it a Heavyweight though. I blame my love for high powered weapons.

Whirligig has plenty of room, and plenty of energy. The extender on top was supposed to be a srimech but it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped D:

And Hellacopter is just decked out. The nut on the side is to remind me where the front is.

As you can see, they're all Heavyweights. I've never been able to make Middle or Light because I always end up adding more and mroe stuff until they turn into these super-heavy beasts.

You like flatmotors, don't you? And horizontal spinners, also.

If you haven't stacked batteries then these bots are WAY underpowered. If i remember well, a Dual Perm drains 209 amps. You should need a little more than 10 long black batts, or 8 red battlepacks, or 21 ant batteries (but worthless in that case, use bigger batteries if you have the space) to power one of these monsters.

I grew up watching Hazard, SoW, and Ziggo. I love Horizontal spinners :P

That, and I generally fail at building anything else. Can't make a flipper or drum to save my life. So far I haven't run out of energy which is why I guessed I was overpowered, but I'll try and start stacking in a few more batts from now on.

you should try to make a few other types of bots. ask Naryar all i have in my Stock game is HS and maby 3 popups. lol as for the bots you should'nt mix stock and dsl. try to make the frame of Whirligig a bit and you might MIGHT get enough wight to put 1 more hammer on it. also use all the wight given to you on these. anyway good start man

I dont use and dont like HS and FS (huh. excepted perhaps for Dire BR but that was a replica at the beginning), cause I have more of a challenge without them and I do want to be specialized builder, as CUDA, Starcore and ACAMS which are HS specialists.

I am more of, in favor order, Vertical spinners, popups, rams and hammers.

what? you know not what you speak of.

If there are any HS specialists in this world, its not one of those three builders. It's Sage. And anybody would agree with me on that.

Actually, I think ACAMS is. He pioneered the stacked spinner.

Perhaps not CUDA, but when you see how many HSs ACAMS built...

And what about Starcore having 3 HSs in his personal team (perhaps even 4 in starcore 4)? And he just implied that he was when I asked to him.

I actually meant an old MW, Technical Difficulties, the first 12-iron spikes-on-2-HPs-bot.

See, it's stuff like this that makes me wish the exchange were still around. I'd love to see their bots and find out how they made awesome HS. Mine tend to get murdered by anything with a wedge or flipper :P

WHen you see his HW Ultimatum, yes, he does.

One time we were 3 MWs against it, included me and CUDA, and he still won.
