ohai somebody, it's been a while
Awesome concept. Is it not lighter to use a few battlepacks? I can't remember much about DSL

Thanks guys!

Like the robot, man!
BTW, welcome back to GTM, Dude! We missed you! It's been like 1-2 years now!

Thanks, been gone forever with school and stuff.

Oh wow! You're back! I didn't realise :D
I've forgotten most of what I know about DSL, but that looks like a great concept. Might dabble in DSL again soon. Just a thought, but would weapons be useful on the bsg arm for a bit of damage?
:D

I actually thought about that when I was taking the screenshots earlier haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that, I'm going to give it a try and see if I can keep it realistic and under the weight limit.

ohai. I can't remember much either, besides hinge wedges are very good, beta motors are sweet, and spamming ants is a thing to do. I think you may be right though, so I'll see how a rebuild would go. The giant orange ones are the most efficient IIRC.

Built another robot and stuff. Popped into my head in class a couple weeks ago. Built it first as a MW and it sucked hard. Rebuilt as a heavyweight and sucks slightly softer. A tracked full body hammer

BIGMEATYCLAWS
798ish
Titanium 3
17 ants IIRC
2 Large JX bursts
Large Tracks on NPC Fasts

Self-righting is sketchy at best but it can land some good sized hits. No idea how AIing would work since the steering switches when the hammers fire because the chassis flips over. Ohhhh well. Can beat most of the DSL 2.1 AI.

A full body hammer? With tank treads? That's interesting.

Came up as an idea for one of those "tank tread weight doesn't count" tournaments, for basically some extra armoring. I don't see why it wouldn't work with wheels too.

So what should I practice building? Not really sure what's popular these days. I've figured out that DSL-S is what I always generally build but what are there more tournaments for and stuff?

about your full body hammer... well you should be able to put a 3kg control board in there and i'm not too sure about the weapon extender work.

pretty sure that hammer setup can be more focused and not sure about these titanium and CF extenders.

You got normal dsl and irl for tourneys, otherwise just build whatever the hell you want.

I would say try some IRL as a lot of tournaments are IRL.
Then again i only build IRL these days so there's that.

Eh, CF if there because I had the weight, just to take a hit from the main extender. Not really gonna work on that one much since it's pretty junk anyways. I think I'll give some IRL a go...

Built a flipper, kind of toes the line between IRL or bad DSL but who cares. Plastic 3, Judge Bursts, 6WD TWM3R Drives, in the 750s because I'll rebuild it somedaaaaaaaaay.

Also includes sweet sideburns.

Ooh, not too bad man. I'm reminded of Panzer MK. 4 looking at it. If you're looking for extra weight, the you could find a way to add some fake flipper pistons which will also make it look a little more IRL.
