when all the competant players finally leave, the game will die.

You seem to be equating NAR AI and DSL to the "game". Stock will live on indefinitely, it will be the mods which die.

Anyways, Somebody's showcase really isn't the place to discuss this.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

I'm just watching this place

Just watching ? Sure that is better to watch  and do nothing more than criticizing other people rather than trying to change the game.

You did change the game, and that change was to cut it off from many newer members.

"Many" are the noobs that cannot take advice. Most newer members did improved to a decent if not good level, notably because i am giving advice.

and very few of these people are actually at any "Skill" to be able to compete competitively.

Very few ?

Myself ? Urjak ? Pwn ? Reier ? Ounce ? Pwn ? Scrap Daddy ? Virus Bomb ? 123savethewhales ? 090901 ? Click ? Joe ? Maybe Somebody ?

And i'm sure the list will grow larger.

I do understand that, but the truth is that this will do next to nothing.

We will see. Sure there will be slight differences, because the components will never all be on equal footing for reasons you can guess, but if i can make 40 weapons worth using rather than less than 20, it's worth it.

You are wanting to rebalance stock as well with Catagore AFAIS ? Well, same here excepted it's not stock.

Well, it is. YOU encouraged them, you pushed them and you still think that this is a good thing.

Yes, i encourage people to build more efficient designs, but i am certainly not encouraging them to worship efficiency like crazy. Did you see the number of times i called "KLONE" on a bot even if it is efficient ? I am all for diversity in building.

You've made a gap in the game and you're widening it, the gap will become too hard for people to jump too quickly, and when all the competant players finally leave, the game will die.

For now i haven't seen any player leave because DSL was getting too difficult. Plus, 123 said it - building is no longer evolving as such a rate, it's all about what bot type beats the other one. I am quite confident DSL top building skill will get to a maximum in less than a year and won't get infinitly hard. Ever saw how guys like MartyMidget and Vertigo are improving quickly, MUCH more than my own learning curve ?

And there is no reason the really skilled players should leave.

How much time did you spend making that bot?

At least 4 hours, probably more. I lost track of time I worked on it on and off for over a week.

@S32 and Nary. GTFO of my showcase this isn't the place for a flame war.

And also...
...Maybe Somebody ?

:D

Now think how good I would be if I had as much time on my hands as nary...

Lol if we are doing a UHW tournament we really should ban Flail SnS and flamethrowers.  Unless you are prepare to run a 3 minutes match for 30 minutes real time.

I agree. Flail spinners should be called Havok Time Bombs.

And King SnS looks like something that might have come out of a science-fiction film. =D

Well guys I wouldn't run it yet I've already sent the signups for The Winds of Change but after I think so. We would have to agree on rules though. I'm thinking DSL, Realistic, no Flail Sheck spinners and that would be about it. I'd have to try it though. *Goes off to build UHW spammed with razor flails and one spammed with flamethrowers*

as both myself and 123 found.. flamethrowers dont work after a particular limit (and a horror to wire 150 of them :P)

maybe this tourney should wait until serge slays the max sphere

just a thought.. try wiring the drive the other way... I think the KE of the tribars is hurting spin up time and speed
