Yes, but it takes some advanced modding which I don't know to do :P

all you need is notepad++ and the location of the .txt and gmf file.

Not really. if I reskin a component, I just switch the textures.

it lets you make a dropdown menu

It's easy, you just need to make 2 different componenttxt's with exactly the same stats except different paths to the texture.

Find the .txt which controls this component, copypaste it into the same folder, and then change the new txt so the texture is different.

Will be a bit more difficult if it's a component in a Style folder (aka in a dropdown menu). Don't remember if it is one.

Was it in the Styles folder ? Did you checked if your texture file path is right ? You're supposed to edit a .TXT file.

also did you uncompressed components.cfz and then removed it ?

the current setup (That I screenshot) workjs, doesn't crash the game. But the things arent gold.

Then it must be the texture who is causing problems. Is it the right size ? Or the right file ? Remake it if needed.

Does it have a completely odd texture, like a few multicolor lines over a white background ?

Did you edit the .gmf file at all or did you just rename it.
