Stop bloody arguing with people and accept advice instead of building always the same crap.

YES if you get smaller discs it will not hit as low... then in that case lower your VS stance so the discs are lower to the ground.

Nearly every time someone gives you advice you refuse to do it by pointing the obvious that will happen if you apply that advice.

But hey : bot building is a repetition of patterns. This pattern is :

step 1 - See what is wrong with your bot
Step 2 - Fix it
step 3 - go back to step 1

and yes EVERY single change you make creates something good and something bad. You just need to fix the bad afterwards, and make sure there is a minimum of flaws in your bot. Don't let youself be stopped by that.

If you cannot see this and plan accordingly and see the future patterns that will happen you will stay average.

I don't know if you care or not about advice, but soon enough people will get tired of "no progress made" and will stop giving you advice.

Are those the best discs you could put on there?

If you're talking about a reinforced disc, no. Don't think I have enough weight leftover.

It still has a terrible habit of tipping forward whenever the discs hit opponents.

I such a huge chassis really necessary.

It also needs wheels at the back. ./nitpicking

Reduced chassis size.

Y'know, seeing this new version, I just don't feel like it's an improvement.

But hey, we can't go by gut instinct can we?

So I decided to pit the old against the new.

Hmm...

IRL isn't about how effective something is in combat it's about how it looks, the second looks better since it has no flimsy looking support down the center but if you change the motor to something like 2 twm's you could get some outer axle supports.

A bigger VS is nearly always better than a small one anyway...it's more about what other bots it can beat.

Pretty much. In VS against VS combat, though, and this may not necessarily apply if fast, wedged VS.

I've done some further testing. Both VS' are about the same overall, being able to beat the same AI bots (The old version seems to be able to hold out from being KO'ed as quickly as the new version, but the new version can dispose of enemies much faster)

SoH (Old) can hit harder and the motor is harder to hit and there's no risk of the motor tilting the bot forward, but turning is always a risk. SoH (New) has been able to maintain stability (Barely), Discs has more weaponry, all in all looks better, and the weapon itself was enough to send Saberteeth flying. The wheels do fly off faster and so do the weapon motors, but y'know, you guys are much more experienced in this than me, so I'll enter the new version into BB7.

But I noticed something odd.

When they get close to opponents, they keep going left right instead of charging right at the oposition.

Both old and new do it. And by doing so, they usually just fling their axles right into the weapons of the opponents

Did I AI them wrong or is it something else?

Rotate the wheels a bit. If it doesn't work, retry.

I've taken nary's advice and...

Still isn't fixed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEYjXvqKfWY&feature=youtu.be

As you can see from the video, it has no problems charging straight into opponents. But as soon as it's in front of their faces, it does this little wiggle.

Try lowering the turnspeed in the bindings.

Fixed the wiggling. Well, it's somewhat improved.

Actually, it just left right's it's way to the opponent now.

And it still wings it's own axle to the left.

I'm assuming that it's perhaps something to do with the wheels.

Will try Nary's advice again...

by the looks of it, you should be able to drive it straight when its controlled. if its only doing that when its ai'd, odds are that you probably failed with the ai.

"turn" is how far your robot turns, while "turnSPEED" is how fast it turns. try lowering the turn to 60 50 or 40 (60 tends to work), and 2 or 2.5 should be a good turnspeed.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

try lower turn, higher maxspeed

Now that I'm done with SoH, time for my HW. Replaced the angle extenders with Flippermakers

Motor protection and reinforced the extenders for the skirts.

Also swapped out Tit.1 for Plastic 3.

I'm not sure what it is, but for some reason it just seems really sketchy to me. It just seems too... powerful. Usually sending bots like Grisly Bear and Velociraptor flying end over end with ease.
