DSL snapper wedges? Never tried that, what are they like?
Anyway, I like the look of 32x, i'm sure you could probably shed a bit of weight to improve the drive if needs be though.

Once was once dead, has been risen from its grave.
This is a little experiment I was doing, GTI on the left and Jetta to the right are the lab mice:

Both have 3mm Titanium, Jetta is a popup with eight razor tips, and gut ripper protection. They seem to be rather ordinary and clonesih, right?

Nope, not in the slightest. They both have powered steering units.
"But wait Ribbs," you say "What on earth would possess you to build such awful bots??!?!?!?!"

That's the thing, they're not. They may not look like it, but they're more effective than they look. Reasons?

Notice when two bots try to turn on each other and do donuts together? These bots don't do that, their turning radius is much larger than other bots, letting them close the gap more quickly.

They have better aim when during the initial rush. Most bots can only go straight ahead during the start of a match, they can't change their course under acceleration with out losing speed, but these bots can turn change their course at full power and still hit true.

They're better suited for "ring" arenas like the BBEANS4 and 5 arenas. These types of arenas don't work well with bots with tank steering, differential steering lets these bots go around the arena with their weapons always facing forward with out loseing speed.

I know somebody (Anyone, not the user) is going to poke holes in these bots, but you know what? I think the powered steering units need more love. Of course these bots are not that good, they're new concepts. With some refinement, I think powered steering units can be competitive.

And that's about it for now, I might post a SkyHigh sequel if I get the chance.

I've actually been thinking about using PSU for a while... they're just so damn heavy.

Why so much empty space...

Oh, and I do see what you are trying to accomplish with PSU's but I don't know if it is better than a standard, 4WD NPCF popup.

If it's one ant per spin motor, does a PSU need only 1 ant?
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

IIRC it draws 14 power, or something similar. So get 2 ants by PSU for safety and enough battery power to last.

I like the idea of it being effective in the BBEANS arena.

It is too bad that the PSU is so overweight.  It makes it a tough call if you cant use that weight toward defense/weapons.

IMO popups and other gutrippers are the only thing PSUs will be good in.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

rammers

But the weight lost via the PSU will make them less able to deal with regular rammers.

EDIT: Unless by using the PSU they get two motors for the price of one. Hmmm...
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

PSU is painfully slow, though. I'm not sure a PSU Rammer would work, maybe a spinner might be better.

The weight of PSU I can deal with, it's the size of that thing that throws me off.

Then again, chassis with 4 ants and a micro control seem too big.

Remember when I used to post here?

Remember when I got help for my crazy machines?

Remember when I showed off bots like this:

Or this:

And even this:

I miss those days.

The tracked popup is lulzy but probably too slow to be good at its role.
